— DIDN’T THEY DO WELL T-SHIRT — 🎸
‘Didn’t They Do Well’ was a catchphrase from then popular British ‘The Generation Game’ show, produced by the BBC, in which four teams of people from the same family, but different generations, competed to win prizes. The programme was first broadcast in 1971 and ran until 1982, and again from 1990 until 2002.
Early in 1973 David Gilmour was snapped wearing this red ‘Didn’t They Do Well’ t-shirt in a series of poses whilst strumming a guitar and twiddling the knobs at his home recording studio in London.

Nick: I thought you were just writing an album, what happened?
David: Yeah, what happened?
Roger: Started writing it.
Roger: Had a breakdown.
Roger: *dumps The Wall on a table* Bon appetite.
NEW BANNER ! My photoshop skills are very rudimentary and it shows. In any case, I've had this image in my head for months if not years and now that I've actually done it, it makes me laugh way more than it should...
I'll probably be changing my url soon, as well. It's not that it's irrelevant but I'm pretty sure no one gets the reference 😐

imagine being in a band with a guy you hate and all the other guys hate this guy also and you spend all your time hating him and you’re finally like ok well how about we kick him out you know. like there are 3 of us and 1 of him. and then he rocks up and is like hey i’ve got this idea for a concept album and here are some songs for it and they’re like some of the best songs you’ve ever heard like some of the all time greats when it comes to songs. and you’re just like oh for fucks sake. so he stays in the band and you make an awesome album but you still hate him. and you repeat this cycle like every 4 years or so
Legit, they look like something Gerald Scarfe would've dreamed up. Sans facial details lol
