There's Something About The Relationships In The Sports Anime/manga I've Seen (between The Team Members,
There's something about the relationships in the sports anime/manga I've seen (between the team members, opponents, coaches, managers, friends, etc) so comforting and exciting to me. They can be based on such deep mutual respect and desire to help each other realize the best version of yourself and your craft. The characters and their dynamics are explored so thoroughly, and their bonding happens through doing an activity they all love together or other activities related to that thing, and they are so genuinely happy to see each other grow and learn and fail and succeed! It seems like you also are more likely to learn in depth about nearly every character, and they all get satisfying development, and best of all for my brain, you understand all of it through the lens of their shared interest.
Anyway I'm v late but I'm almost done reading Haikyu!!, and the little guys supporting and helping each other and loving each other through their volleyball journeys just speak to me so much as an aroace autistic person, even though I learned that team sports were not for me very early in elementary school.
Also I have not actually watched/read a lot of sports stories from around the world or even that many anime yet so I'd love suggestions if anyone relates to this or has noticed it in other stories :)

btw the Earthsea books are that good and anything positive you’ve heard about them is true and the prose will break your legs and kiss your forehead and it proves wrong every criticism of ‘genre fiction’ and Ged will never be white even though those evil cover artists tried to ignore that and it tackles feminist issues in ways that so much modern fantasy could only dream of and motherhood/aging/absence of war/decentering of power through violence and so many other other taboos of fantasy are made central and powerful and it did everything first and perfectly and well the dragons are cool as fuck. You will get deeply attached to a wizard’s boat it’s called Lookfar. The boat is called Lookfar I love it like a brother.
