I’m in my Josh Groban era and I will not apologise 🕺
On a serious note though the great comet of 1812 has touched my soul like no other musical has done before. And the staging is so interactive and alive especially with the audience sitting with the actors and the orchestra pit being centre stage and having the actors be part of the pit and stage. Ugh I’m obsessed. It’s honestly such a masterpiece of theatre.
“It seems to me/ That this comet/ Feels me/ Feels my softened and uplifted soul/ And my newly melted heart/ Now blossoming/ Into a new life” - Pierre, The Great Comet of 1812
it’s getting really bad for me last night i had a dream where someone asked me about my different copies of war and peace and i was thrilled
Director Alexandre Moors and Alden Ehrenreich attend the Los Angeles premiere of The Yellow Birds (2017)
‘The Yellow Birds’ director Alexandre Moors speaking about Alden…
“Looking at all the young talent in Hollywood, I must say I was very early set on Alden. He’s a step above the bunch.
He was someone who had the maturity to take on a role like [Bartle], which goes to very dark places at times and needs somebody who has a gravitas and a certain ability to understand the layers in the script.
He’s very masculine and virile, but his comical talents are amazing. He’s very light, very quick, and very sharp. It’s an amazing contrast.
It’s a question of range, he has an amazing range.
[During an hiatus in filming] Alden, instead of going back to L.A., he rented a cabin somewhere in California just so he could go fish and be by himself and not lose his focus on the character during that one month time.
That should tell you what kind of actor he is. I don’t think a lot of people would do that.”
thinking about how steven spielberg wanted the gestapo agent in the first indiana jones movie to be a cyborg with a mechanical arm that could switch back and forth between a machine gun and a flamethrower and how george lucas of all people had to be the one to tell him that it was too over the top
"If he came across some worldly abomination he would say to himself, 'So-and-so's robbing the state and the Tsar while the state and the Tsar weigh him down with honours, is he? Well, let him get on with it - she smiled at me yesterday, she asked me round, and I love her, and nobody will ever know.'"
