Dear mutuals and all folks on Tumblr. I know it may be triggering for those of you who have experienced or living with earthquakes. I was born in a very active earthquake zone. And what happened yesterday is now affecting around 20 million people actively both in Turkey and Syria, and maybe hundreds of millions of their loved ones all around the world. Not only humans but also animals are affected by this catastrophe and they all need your help. There are several points where you can donate, please do your own search too. But you can also donate through Direct Relief or Red Cross. Your donation will surely help someone. Please do share if you know someone who may join too. Thank you.

As you all may know, I am an Asian American, and the rise in anti-Asian hate crimes in the US is tragic and terrifying. A few years ago, my mother and I had unprovoked, racist threats spat at us while we were simply grocery shopping. They didn’t care who we were as people- they just reduced us to our race. I want this space to be positive and encouraging for everyone, and that’s not possible unless I make this space clearly anti-racist. I hope this comic is a hopeful reminder that we’re all able to make the world a better place together! I can’t stop anything alone, but together, we can make a more caring society that welcomes and protects people of all races.

Had to delete my other post because you could easily find my location by a building in the background (tysm for letting me know, btw!)

I feel sick to my stomach for doing this, but I truly don't have a single person to turn to. I tried contacting my father to see if he could take my cats in while I sort things out, but he said my step siblings don't like cats and he doesn't want to pick a fight with my step mother.

I couldn't raise the funds on time, and unfortunately I got evicted from my apartment a few hours ago, so now I have to somehow raise enough to pay off back-rent and find a place while I get back on my feet. My landlord's lawyer called to say he'll be taking this to court if necessary. So yeah, I'll take making a fool of myself on the internet over making my life even more miserable.

To be honest, I don't have a fucking clue how could I even get out of this, but i'll be damned if I don't try.

A picture speaks a thousand words. It is beyond heart wrenching to see such images come out as the rescue operations continue in Turkey/Syria.

As a global citizen, beyond borders, beyond political affiliations - whatever could be done from our end in terms of relief aid should not be missed. The grievance of losing one's dear & never can never be compensated. At least, we could do something to better their emergency needs.

And if nothing is possible, then one heart felt prayer to alleviate the aftermath of this event.

May the world be one in their phase of affliction & trial.

(needless to say, though we grieve, let us also not miss to ponder on our blessings - of security, of peace, of our families, a roof above our head, and endless other gifts or the sheer chance to just breathe - ever grateful we ought to be, lest one day we wake up and find none of it...)
