Dabi: I know what you are.
Hawks: Say it.
Dabi: Problematic.
StreamerAU!krbk !!!
I spend an embarrassing amount of time watching streamers so I had to do it to em’
I didn't mean to be mean or harass that user. I was just sick of how much it felt like they were overlooking Bakugo's growth up to that point (they are currently in the middle of the 1-A vs 1-B match). As for the Ochako vs Bakugo match, they claim that the massive explosion Bakugo did to defeat her was something that could have only been done with his gauntlets, like we saw in Deku Vs Kaachan 1. That the only reason why he could do that in the first battle was because the gauntlets store up his sweat to make such a massive explosion, so him being able to do so without the gauntlets seems like an Asspull so he can get a win he doesn't deserve. That's the logic anyway. And I admit, it does make sense from that angle, even if that's not what Horikoshi was going for or how the fans viewed it.
I understand! things just get ugly really fast in fandom spaces, and I didn't want people starting fights on my post. but I'm glad nothing excessively rude has been said so far, honestly I'm kind of shocked nobody's had a disagreement until now haha. and I was wondering why it seemed like they hadn't finished the series yet! oh no I hope I didn't spoil anything in my reply... I don't think I did though.
It sounds scary

hey, I don't agree with you getting tagged or harassed, so I'm sorry about that. however, I'm very curious about this reasoning you've listed.
- I don't really know what to say to this one because I don't see why it's a contradiction for him to beat uraraka. it's been awhile since I rewatched season 1 so maybe I'm forgetting something they said that got retconned? lmk
- yes. that is called a character flaw. and he DOES change, they make a whole deal of it, the the "win by saving" moment in s5? I agree that it should have had more emphasis, but to say that it didn't happen is just incorrect.
- he's given leeway because they live in a biased society that cares about powerful quirks and potential as heroes. this is a large part of the series from literally episode 1 and to miss it would honestly be shocking. also, it's explained later that that class that got expelled did end up getting re-enrolled and it was just a scare tactic to help them learn. clearly aizawa didn't think that would be useful here.
- also also, just because he doesn't face the same level of consequences that someone being that violent probably would in our world, doesn't mean he's exempt from being called out. the first few major interactions he has with class 1-a are them scolding him or telling him his personality sucks, something he honestly probably isn't used to from a peer level, which might explain why he grows as a person way more in one year at ua than he ever did before (or maybe it's just a "growing-out-of-it" situation as he gets older).
again, I'm sorry if people are being dicks to you, and you're not obligated to like any particular character, but I just don't like it when people make claims about the show/manga that aren't true. if you have further explanation to your reasoning, I'm curious, because I'm sure this was probably cut down for brevity's sake. no hate 🙏
