not ignoring canon nor strictly adhering to it, but a secret third thing (taking the small bits and crumbs canon barely spent time developing and running absolutely hogwild)

does anyone wanna hold hands until we feel a little braver
That hit a lot closer to home than I expected.
Ok people (specifically baby boomers, I’ve found) tend to say that “teens these days think they’re indestructible!” I beg to differ. This generation KNOWS how fragile we are, but we do stupid shit anyway bc we just don’t care. We’re all so stressed out and lowkey have a death wish that our attitude towards being stupid is just “meh, McFuck it”
This is awful
My best friend had a horrible top surgery experience, and his surgeon doesn’t seem to care. He is raising money to get a second opinion and (hopefully) another surgery to fix what his first surgeon did. Anyone can look at these pictures and realize that is NOT right.
So even if you cannot donate, please reblog and share this. My best friend is entirely broken over this and is strongly fighting a deep depression because of it.
He deserves happiness, and was so close to finally reaching it before this happened. I want nothing more than for him to love himself when he sees himself, including with his shirt off.
Thank you in advance for taking the time to read, share, and/or donate!

If you want to get into the race issues with Teen wolf it definitely doesn’t begin or end with Scott McCall. Danny just disappeared out of nowhere, who was not only a person of color but also openly gay. Boyd was murdered on the show and he was the only person of color other than Danny and Deaton as a slight main character in the show. And if Scott was Latino and not just Tyler Posey being of Latino descent from his mother’s side, my bad for not knowing. Arden Cho deserved so much better than how they treated her in the series and just as a cast member, they never even told her she wasn’t coming back she found out on social media. They did Hayden dirty by also just having her and her sister kinda disappear. Mason was handled better than the others at least. And Monroe was probably the best handled person of color and she was the villain. But they gave her a depth they just weren’t known for so it was kind of refreshing to have her. Oh also Morrel but she kind of never fully made sense to me, like I was never sure how I was supposed to feel about her or Deaton throughout the show. I think they were just neutral characters instead of truly being truly good or bad. And that’s not getting into the smaller roles.
And since you’re already kind of backwards calling me racist I’ll just say man without looking up Tyler Posey specifically to find out his race I wouldn’t have know he was not white. 🤷
Also never said it was not creepy that Stiles knew Lydia’s size or what have you, but Scott just met this girl and he’s watching her change. And everything with this was immediate and it made me uncomfortable. At least Liam and Hayden had history and knew each other for a long time. But Scott had just met this girl and was hooked on her in an uncomfortable way to me. Like there wasn’t even a build up really. Just pedal to the floor straight to Romeo and Juliet territory.
Personally I think if Derek had communicated things he wouldn’t have been so traumatized still, if he had opened up about it or just gone to therapy it could have made a world of difference. But do you really think it was fair of Scott keeping something of that magnitude from her just in general? I couldn’t imagine not telling her when especially when others are aware, wouldn’t it be better coming from you?
The post was not about Stiles it was about Scott. Was he obsessed with Lydia in an uncomfortable way? Absolutely. Was it that way throughout the whole show? No, Lydia and Stiles were able to form an amazing worthwhile friendship. Where they saved each other when possible and worked well as a team. Throwing the romance back in cheapened it, but still he grew out of the uncomfortable obsession and it became a deep affection and friendship between the two of them. And I’ll repeat I was unaware in any way that Scott or Tyler Posey was Latino. But I guess that’s my bad.
All of this is in response to this post.
I'm going to tag @always-mimits out of courtesy, because I don't have "discussions" in comment sections.
We'll start with their response regarding what I said about Steve Rogers, debunking him trying to kill Tony in Civil War.
While I'm happy that you recognize that some of your bias comes from fanfiction and not the actual text, it's your line at the end that bugged me. You can dislike Steve because of his Engame ending all you want. Everyone who followed me during that time knows how much I loathed that ending and how vocal I was about saying it. But that's not what you said in your original post.
You said specifically that you hated Steve Rogers because he's "so moral" [never stated by him or anyone in the movies] and that he tried to kill Tony.
It's an easily disproven statement by simply watching the movie, so you don't get to change your goal posts by saying you really meant something else.
Moving on...
Once again, what makes Scott's relationship and attitude toward Allison - his girlfriend! - different than any other example provided in this show? Why is it that Scott's a creep for looking over at Allison when she changed out of a wet shirt into a dry one but Stiles isn't a creep for knowing Lydia's measurements or when he walked in on Malia showering? Why is one character hated for what no one cares about in another character?
Why is Scott hanging around to protect her considered weird but not the same for Liam and Hayden?
Why is Scott obligated to tell Allison that her mother tried to kill him when Derek doesn't have to tell anyone what went down with him and Kate back in the day?
I know these aren't from your responses, but I see them enough that I have to add them. Why are the double-standards so stacked against Scott?
And as for Scott not telling Allison about what happened st the rave, that's hardly the first time someone in her family tried to kill him and failed. From the time Victoria killed herself to when Scott finally got to sit down and talk with Allison was episodes later. They saw each other in Party Guessed, when Victoria was still alive, and didn't see each other again until Master Plan (aside from the Argents attack on the Sheriff station in Fury where she demanded Scott hand over Derek) when the big showdown happened with Gerard and the Kanima. After that, they had a goodbye scene and then she left the country!
Moving on...
But once again, you weren't calling out Stiles being obsessive (though it is nice to see someone else say it), you were specifically talking about how Scott was "obsessed" with Allison and how that makes him "not a great character".
Why is it that Scott has to jump through ever changing hoops to be considered a good character but other characters get a pass for doing the exact same thing? What is the difference? Because the only one I can see is the fact that Scott is played by a Latino actor.
Which leads me to this...
If I had a dollar for every time someone used the "I thought Scott was white" excuse when they're called out on their double-standards, I could retire tomorrow.
I'm not saying you are doing this deliberately, but it's something I've seen across multiple fandoms with similar characters.
