To celebrate the end of the school year for me I'm deciding to draw all my friends Yumeships!! Just because well I'll have more free time to draw Telle! Not as much as I'd like to have done this week but backgrounds are a lot of meat and potatoes! Work is also picking up and I'll be out on a trip next weekend too so there may not be a development update next Sunday!

Release info

You may be wondering how exactly I plan on releasing this? And to answer that, I'm not entirely sure yet!

It'd be cool if this could work exclusively on itch.io with no download but I'm unsure how that all works! Rest assured, a download will always be available for it.

Unfortunately, this game will not have mobile support. I'm sorry!

Another thing about releasing, it is highly likely that I will release the routes in waves, starting with Shepherd, Collin, and Russ in the first wave. After them, I will release Dingo, Yonny, and Bernard either all together in a second wave or one at a time.

The good news is that Dingo, Yonny, and Bernard's development time will be significantly shorter as a majority of their sprites and backgrounds will be drawn by the time the first three routes are out. Predicted Release?

This is not set in stone but I am hoping for the first three routes to release around the end of August.

Idk if there’s an actual name for them but like. What are some songs that make you think of Cherpherd? Or maybe even just Cherie herself 👀

YOU LITERALLY READ MY MIND!! This was on my mind ALL DAY yesterday!!

I've been listening to Imogen Heap's Speak for Yourself album A LOT lately (HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!)

I want to make a Cherpherd animation to the song Goodnight and Go SO BAD. There's a couple of lines that I don't like (namely the following home part) but other than that, I imagine it from Erma's perspective; wanting to be with Cherie but preventing herself from doing so (there's lore behind this), leading into imaginative scenarios of how it could happen.

Another song from this same album that I've been listening to is Loose Ends, it's more about the angst side of the relationship. I haven't really dropped Cherpherd lore to explain this one </3 There's actually a lot of angst between them.. One day I'll explain. AND Clear the Area. (Literally makes me think of when you first see Shepherd in Pikmin 4) Mainly think about this and how in general Cherie always has Erma's back, even if they had a disagreement.

I'm super happy this left an impact on you!! I really wanted to make this last year but I was too intimidated by Ren'Py at the time to make it! ALSO, writing for Star Wars is super daunting (to me, at least) and I was worried that I would forget some tidbit of lore about Dathomir or about Maul, Savage, and Feral. I know I'm basically a Pikmin blog now but Maul holds a special place in my heart, I probably will return to the fanbase when the Maul show comes out!! IM SO EXCITED FOR THAT!! Sooo just in case this happens and I decide to continue the Opress Bros dating sim (since I am no longer scared of Ren'Py cause I'm making a Pikmin dating sim now) I won't spoil the ideas I had written about it juuuust in case. But, considering how much work the Pikmin dating sim is already proving, I don't wanna put anyone's hopes up that I'll make it :( I am happy a lot of people are interested though! It is very encouraging!

Do you by chance have any voice headcanons for the rescue corps + Cherie 👀 and also some other characters if you want :]

So my brain does this thing where I think of voices that I have definitely heard of from a piece of media but I cannot pin point the character's voice it belongs to!! IM SO SORRYYYY

I know I got some voice headcanons from like this one tiktok video made long long ago???

Someone had said Russ' voice was Donatello's voice from TMNT (I think it's a specific generation of TMNT but I'm not too familiar with the franchise </3 ) but like I totally agree with that idk it FITS him

And I imagine Dingo's voice would be like sonic boom sonic I DONT KNOW IF THIS IS EVEN A GOOD HEADCANON.... </3 But other than that, I cannot pin point the voices I imagine them.. And I'm SO BAD at coming up with them so like yall

Pikmin 4 Dating Sim - May 4th Development Blog

Welcome to the first installment of the Pikmin 4 Dating Sim development blog! A weekly "news letter" where I will discuss my progress on the dating simulator. I thought instead of doing a discord server, this would probably be the best course of action. If we get more buzz around the project, perhaps a discord server still can be made.

What is the Pikmin 4 dating simulator? The Pikmin 4 dating simulator (working title) is a dating simulator where you create a character and go on a little narrative story path with members of the Rescue Corps!

It takes place late into your mission on PNF-404, a multiple day storm forces the Rescue Corps to halt rescue efforts and take shelter in the S.S. Shepherd.

During this time, you decide to get to know your crew members, each having their own arch and story!

All around, it will be a light-hearted playable dating sim made in Ren'Py!

Russ and Galena can come to an agreement on what to do for date nights most of the time, but there would definitely be some distinct days where the both of them would be…crazy stubborn.

It would definitely be something like him wanting to go somewhere fancy to eat and her wanting to go somewhere more casual like some kind of barbecue place, but all the time that could be spent just saying “screw it” and picking one randomly and getting ready instead gets used for hardcore debating where they should go and why.

…So much so that too much time has passed and absolutely nowhere is open.

But movie night works just fine in the end!! Pretend there’s some kind of sci-fi movie on in the background that Russ definitely didn’t question/criticize the tech and science of

Hey so like…yk how colors are a popular “theme” when shipping characters (like pink x purple, red x blue), what colors do you associate Erma and Cherie with?

OMG I wish I had a better answer for this!! I just imagine them both yellow/orange cuz that's my rescue corps color </3 but I suppose if I were to chose, Shepherd would be red while Cherie would be yellow? hehehe

Io!

I was a little curious about her body type... hmm, like, yeah I think she's fit; she's a hard worker, opting to do much of the heavy lifting for her fellow officers and all. Hooowever, I don't think of her as "slim" by any means! Io wears her weight comfortably as to say, "I pack a punch!", as she's adamant on a strong appearance. She's got a tummy and isn't afraid of it! Her soft features hide her arms...so, she likes to flex and show off!

Sure, the Captain would outdo her - but, it's all good fun to Io 💙

Erma's love language

Erma always gives Cherie words of affirmation after missions, which makes Cherie smile and blush for days.

Erma leaves reminder notes on Cherie's dresser and folds her uniform for her. "Don't forget to eat breakfast."

When Cherie is feeling particularly down and they're in bed, Erma holds her close, rubbing circles on Cherie's back soothingly, occasionally giving her a forehead kiss.

Cherie's love language

On days Erma is stuck in her office doing paper work, Cherie always has a hot meal to bring to her. The more stressed Erma is, the more "comfort food" the food is.

Cherie will come back after the argument and talk things out rationally, often sitting next to Erma and putting a hand on her back. And she's not afraid to say sorry if she truly messed up!

Lots of physical attention, Cherie is a hugger, Erma is much more sparing, only for when the situation calls for it. Cherie loves to hug Erma from behind as a surprise greeting.

HII THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE ASK <33 Cherie comes from Karut (omg shocker) where she was born and raised on a farm! She was pretty sheltered growing up as the area she lived in was rural. However, she had a knack for adventure, often venturing in places she shouldn't be, such as caves and tall plants. She often threw herself at danger even though her mom was incredibly against this.

She has an older brother too! (I don't have a design for him yet </3) he sometimes goes with Cherie on her various adventures but does not have the guts like she does.

One day, in her teenage years, a neighborhood kid went into the caves and got stuck in a crawlspace. The Rescue Corps were called but by the time they got there, Cherie was already out with the child, comforting him.

The Rescue Corps thought she had done a prank call on them but no, she just got to it first! Cherie was incredibly curious about the Rescue Corps but her parents wanted her to focus on the family farm. In the first few years in her adulthood, she focused on helping out with the farm but she grew more and more curious. Something clicked in her that fateful day, "I could go on adventures to other planets and save more people?!"

It was her true passion, she wanted to get out of this monotonous grind on Karut. With much time, she was able to get her parents to warm up to the idea of her leaving the farm life. At the age of 24, she enlisted and went through boot camp and training. A year later, she's the new rookie at 25!

Her general personality is timid, courageous, noble, hot tempered, naive, and loyal.
