ANYWAY starting off with my intention with them.... basically i just wanted to give them more development than in the show, and more reasons to stick together, other than topher is just a freak and abe is his friend ig. kinda.

friendship they forgot about in s3 BUT WHATEVERRR SIGHHHHH

anyway so here's ah, master post I guess?? gonna talk about all the stages of their relationship, and if anyone wants to know more feel free to send an ask or comment or idk!!!

anywho. redo tophabe intro!

I try to make them complement each other in a way

like in the show, they meet because of the activity harriet hosts of walking in someone else's shoes, literally

and at first, they don't really click, i think that's funny tbh. Abe is just confused about everything that's going on and he can't even have a moment to talk to Joan, and Topher well he's there, and he's the only one that abe has in that moment to make him company, and topher offers his help so abe can understand this new era he woke up in

and since here, they establish this dynamic of topher being Abe's guide, and also of topher just bossing around Abe and abe pretty much accepting that (the way they interact changes a bit with time, that's still pretty much their dynamic)

they start to hang out together but not really because they like each other's company, Abe is alone because joan is with jfk and gandhi is frozen so Topher is the only option left, and well Topher doesn't have other friends, so he doesn't really mind. Abe thinks he's kinda weird and annoying, but is grateful he takes the time to explain all the stuff he doesn't understand, topher thinks abe is dumb, but at least he has company now. so their first days hanging out are a little bit awkward.

the days pass, and then they start to create a genuine connection and start to well, like each other (in a platonic way, for now...) this doesn't mean their friendship is immediately perfect, but they give each other a sense of routine, something that abe appreciates now that everything has changed, and topher doesn't feel as lonely.

even though abe is from literally another era, he tries to understand Topher, and does it in a way, I mean yeah abe was popular for like 3 days, but he was a loser too (in a different way, but he was a loser too) and topher appreciates that. also they listen to whatever the other one says.

and with time, they slowly build a routine together, talking while they grab their stuff from their lockers, walking together to class, walking home together, eating lunch at each other's homes, and the most important thing: sleepovers at tophers house.

those were the thing that let their bond grow, the first time topher invited abe to a sleepover they have a deep talk about how Abe felt confused about the new stuff and couldn't figure out what to do, something that topher related to on his own way.

they learnt about the other ones routine, and needs, and even though Topher was selfish a lot of times, he still cared about Abe

physical affection is a key element too! at first Topher is the one to suddenly grab abe by the hand or the arm, or even pulling him closer or pushing him away (like he does in s2e1) also abe carries around topher like he did in s2e10, it's something usual for them

and Abe is okay with that! and even hugs him too

and they even cuddle together during their sleepovers. in a totally straight way. of course ❤️

and yeah, they have a nice friendship! not perfect, of course, and they have other friendships, but theyre each other's favorite

months later, topher starts developing a crush on abe, but he takes his time to figure it out. abe developes a crush too but some time later than Topher, but he's still with the idea of wanting Joan, making him not figure it out either.

Topher discovers the shadow board plans

topher and abe friendship starts during September 2023, around the middle of may 2024 topher discovers the government secret plans for the clones, more specifically, candides plan.

we're not talking about that rn bc is not important

since Abe is Topher's best friend, he goes to him and tells him what he discovered, Abe thinks it's a joke and doesn't believe him, which makes topher mad, and now decides that he's gonna ruin the board plans just to prove Abe wrong, and to end up being Abe's hero, all behind his back.

around this time, Harriet gets the new obsession of becoming a journalist, and while trying to find something interesting to write about she finds Topher trying to sneak in the sub principals office, or well candides office.

long story short, Topher tells Harriet what he discovered and they start working together to find more information, this resulting in them hanging out before classes, or even during lunch time some times.

from Abe's pov, topher just suddenly has a shift in his attitude, and even though they're still together a lot of the time, now topher starts rejecting him or avoiding him some days, something weird, and Abe knows there's something up but he doesn't know why.

one day, he sees them together, and starts suspecting topher has a crush on her or something like that, and well he gets jealous, I mean he was jealous of Cleo hanging out with jfk in s1, so it makes sense to me

and, on top of this, the death maze happens

(the death maze in this au is a yearly event where basically they do different activities like treasure hunting, it started for the second generation clones. this year scudworth put a lot of pressure on the clones, affecting more the old clones who never had something like that)

so both topher and abe are stressing out, and this starts shattering their friendship, plus the fact that topher never told Abe about his friendship with Harriet.

this leads us to ...

the tophabe break up arc

sigh gay people be having break ups without even dating damn.

during the death maze, Abe wants to stay with Topher, but Topher obviously has to go

this leads to a huge argument between them, abe basically gets mad and topher loses it, because in the end, he was making all of that just for abe, just so they could have a normal life. so Abe getting mad at him hurts him, and talks back, and they say to each other a lot of hurtful things that they don't really mean, but still.

the cherry on top for this drama is harriet going to topher and taking him with her, abe sees that, of course. topher decides to just leave. without arguing more.

now, here the au gets divided in two timelines, the government ending (basically the bad ending, the clone board it's created and just a few clones have control over the world, the rest die in cloney island) and the freedom ending (good ending, yay! the shadow board gets tired of this project and just leaves the clones in peace)

the things after the tophabe argument happened differently according to the timeline

in both timelines, topher meets the rest of the bleacher creatures and spends his time with them, creating new friendships. on abes side, he also has jfk and Confucius as his friends, their friendship start during the death maze.

in both timelines, too, they're both so annoying about the other one, topher is more emotional about it and abe just pretends to be okay but he's also emotional and misses topher so much and he can't even understand why. topher understand it a little bit more but it's still bitter about it, and even more because ivan just feeds this bitterness and angry feelings at abe, but he still misses him a lot

during sport seasons, the bleacher creatures plan to humiliate the cheerleading team.

cheerleader arc (both timelines)

Topher sneaks disguised as a girl cheerleader, etc etc really dumb arc hes popular Abe has a crush on him tries to get a date whateverrr. topher reveals the truth and they have a talk.

government ending

basically it goes wrong, and they repeat the same argument from the death maze, and this seems to shatter their friendship, if they still have one

they give up on being each other's friend again someday and go their separate ways

topher stays with the bleacher creatures, and Abe with jfk and confucius

they stop talking and just avoid each other

(in both time lines, abe dates Joan, but I'm still figuring out during what timeee, whatever, but it's happening)

they're both bitter and hate the other one, so topher does pranks on Abe and Abe just get mad. they both bury their feelings deep down.

until cloney island, the missile still happens, and basically they just talk again until it's about to hit, they finally forgive each other and admit their feelings for each other and kiss. yay ❤️

really nice and dramatic and romantic, until topher fucking dies and Abe gets traumatized

two years for that...sighhh....

sadlyyyyy talking more about this would require me to explain stuff I haven't explained yetttt so stay tuned for more ramblings

also this is more centered around the future but the futures in the au deserve their own post, sooo now we're going withhh...

freedom ending

in this timeline, the talk ends up with them forgiving each other and recovering their friendship. yay!

even though they have more friends, they're still each other's favorite, and they re establish their old routine, with some different things but still, they gain their bond again

the dynamic of topher bossing around Abe stays, but this time it's more accommodated to both and not just. Topher. because now Topher listens to abe more, and well he knows him so he also has what he would like/need in mind more, and abe still it's just ok with whatever he says

one of the reasons their friendship broke is because they had an idea of the other one that wasn't really accurate, in a way

because topher thought abe would always be there for him, even if he treated him badly, and that he didn't need to do anything else. abe thought topher wasn't incapable of actually hurting him or having any real bad intentions

so after they're friends again, they realize that well, they're human, and they're not perfect, and the other one is capable of hurting them, but that's why they need to be civil and think about the other one . or wherever not that I care sigh

now topher is conscious he likes abe, but denies it, Topher comphet if you will.

abe dates Joan, but realizes he likes topher, kinda what happened with Cleo and joan in s1

after that, he tries to get with Topher but fails because Topher is in denial for a while, and now is abe the one who randomly grabs Topher hand, or hugs him, topher is okay with this, he's happy, but again he's denial and thinks Abe is just being friendly or whatever #healthymalefriendship ig

and this goes for around idk, a month, or two at max, but finally topher decides to ask Abe out in a totally platonic date

they get ready with the help of their friends, and after a nice afternoon, FINALLY.... FINALLY AFTER. A YEAR AND HALF I THINK. THWY CONFESS AND DATE, EVERYONE CHEREEDDDDD!!!!

whatever cringiest couple at clone high

they marry btw in the future. and have a daughter. this redo au shit serious bc it has lore until the clones adulthood.

it's not like there's a shift in the way they treat each other, they're just more romantic with words, and they kiss ig, and of course they're more open about their psychical affection, and feel more free bc before yeah it was nice for them but kinda awkward bc they were scared to make the other one uncomfortable

idk abe is really cheesy (is that the word?) with his partners so yeah he's like that with Topher, sigh he loves so much that ugly man

and topher too, on his own way, he's still a freak but loves abe and shows it the way he can

at cloney island they get separated, but Abe searches for him because he knows that's Topher's worst nightmare sighh I hate that one scene in the show.

so yeah they're together here too but as a couple and topher doesn't fucking die

I spent all night drawing so here’s some Topher content for the starving Topher fans

I’m writing a fic where the consciousness inside the Hexcore turns into an actual person and now it’s all I can think about 🧍

kind of obsessed with the characterization of jayce and viktor as fundamentally good people who will also go absolutely batshit insane if you separate them because theyre also ridiculously codependent to a degree that is concerning for everybody else's wellbeing. they were literally away from each other for a couple of months and almost ended the entire world

I never wanted to be your enemy.

Yall think that there might be an "original" timeline that happened "first" that the Herald Viktor that saved Jayce and his mom came from? Because the logic of Viktor going back to save Jayce and give him the crystal, therefore causing them to invent hextech therefore creating himself is circular and would require lots of woowoo time travel science bullshit to not be nonsense, so that means either Jayce was Always going to get obsessed with creating magic or that originally he was supposed to be saved by a different mage, and I find the idea of baby Jayce watching his mother die and barely surviving a near death experience, which eventually leads him to obsessively searching for ways to save other people and stumbling into forbidden magical arts, more likely.

And the reason I think any of this matters is because I am SO HEARTBROKEN over the idea of a Viktor who met a damaged and traumatised orphan Jayce at the academy, and believed in him with no evidence he could be right, only for them to create the hex core together, and all the following horror together, and the reason the dead Jayce is actually kneeling isn't the same as our Jayce surrendering to Viktor hoping he could get through to him, it was because he wasn't fighting him at all and was his partner in the evolution and that Viktor still looked human because a Jayce who was helping him with his cult wouldn't have killed him and been the catalyst for his final trnsformation. And that Jayce knelt before his partner, simply accepted being consumed at the end, along with the rest of the world. And then Viktor realised the mistake they made, and made the choice to go back and save his partner from ever being that broken child who would help him end the world, out of all the events he could have changed, because he was sure that Jayce's heart was the one that could save them.

"What was the whole deal with Viktor not being 'broken' and Jayce's confession in Episode 9?"

Some ramblings I had but decided to make it its own post

"But you were never broken, Viktor."

This line is about Viktor's self-esteem and worth as an individual.

While a confident character (especially in Act 1 of Season 1), Viktor lets himself be weighted down by people's negative perceptions of him.

When introducing himself to Jayce and talking him down from jumping, Viktor uses extremely negative words to describe himself (and literally "crippled").

And with the beginning of Viktor's health decline from then on so do his confidence and relationship with others.

Viktor refuses to be on stage with Jayce when they first present Hextech. (And Jayce respects his decision and doesn't force his hand!) He doesn't want to be publically acknowledged as Jayce's partner.

We don't actually see Viktor being close to anyone but Jayce. Especially during the more dire breakouts of his disease coinciding with his research on the Hexcore. He becomes so obsessed that he pushes everyone away. While I don't think he has ever loved Sky romantically, she was still a colleague of his with a good opinion of him. And yet we see him reject her companionship (which could have been kept perfectly friendly and platonic!) and lose himself in his work, quite literally.

It is shown to us explicitly that Jayce cares about Viktor's health (he leaves Mel to come to Viktor's bedside). And yet Viktor lies to him about potential treatments, in fear of what Jayce would think. What he wouldn't understand. Without even knowing what Jayce would think (and as season 2 has proven us, Jayce did in fact support the augmented hextech solution) he immediately comes to the conclusion that Jayce would reject him. This is a sign of low self-esteem.

What happened to Sky was extremely traumatic and he clearly feels an overwhelming amount of guilt. However we don't really see him confide in anyone, don't see him relying on anyone for moral support. He bottles it up and keeps his worries and guilt to himself, which doesn't work well.

When Viktor attempts and literally toes the line about suicide, this time Jayce is the one preventing him from jumping. And it is because of these circumstances I believe that Viktor finally admits a part of his wories and guilt about Hextech to someone. And still he doesn't tell the full story (Jayce only learns about Sky in season 2)

Viktor's confidence comes back in full bloom in season 2, once he becomes fused with the Hexcore and gains access to a perfect body. (Note that I use perfect here because this is what the Herald of the Arcane believes).

Fuck, he catwalked into the council room vhen he confronted Jayce in episode 8. We have literally never seen this character do that before. He is cocky, he is literaly the one on top of Jayce. He oozes confidence and charisma.

During the various scenes in the astral plane, Viktor is often depicted as this grand, majestic and huge figure. He towers over everyone, looks down on people. He is confident in himself and his abilities. But when Jayce rejects his vision ("my partner died in this room") and defeats him with Mel, we see Viktor become physically smaller. Cuddled and small on the floor, rejecting Astral Sky's touch.

Once again, his physical appearance reflects his own inner worth. He believes that Jayce doesn't want him = he shifts back to a ""weaker"" state and immediately rejects others' comfort.

This rejection is also what directly links to him shedding all his humanity to achieve this "perfection."

And when the mask comes down (literally) after Ekko threw him time in a bottle at the end of episode 9, and a part of his real, human face is revealed, Viktor once again becomes smaller.

Here the shift is radical. He goes from being meters tall to smaller than Jayce's height. Viktor tries to protect, to shield himself. He doesn't want to be perceived in this weak state.

This is why it is such a pivotal point that Viktor reverts back to his own body after Jayce showed him the truth, that he turns to face Jayce as equals in their human forms. This is Viktor finally accepting himself as who he is, accepting his worth as a human being.

When Jayce tells Viktor "you were never broken," he means that Viktor was always a whole person, not lesser than. That he was always worthy of compassion, love and respect just like everyone else. That there was nothing "broken" about him that could justify a negative perception of him.

No parts of him are broken because every part of him can be loved,

Viktor's disability and disease are a part of him but that does not mean Viktor himself is broken.

Jayce's confession is essentially a love letter to the person Viktor is ("a part of everything I admired about you"). It is not a comment about how Viktor shouldn't care about his health. It is a comment about Viktor's own worth and how he is deserving of love, truly and fully just as he is. That a perfect body doesn't make him worthier.

MORE JAYVIK DETAILS - THE PLANTS

So you know the scene where Jayce and Viktor discover that Hextech can "heal" the plants?

That one!

First, we have Jayce proving that once again his ideals and dreams have changed.

Viktor rattles on about all the amazing benefits this could have on people and lifeforms, but Jayce with THE DREAMIEST EYES EVER,

(Seriously)

JUST REPLIES "curing you"

It's the only thing he truly cares about by this point. He just wants to heal Viktor*

(*note that it only comes up after he has witnessed Viktor's decline due to his lung disease. Curing here refers to Viktor's deadly disease)

And that fact is cemented by the conversation Jayce, Ekko and Heimerdinger later have in Season 2

Ekko: "Did any of the plants survive?"

Jayce (with an incredibly pained look): "They weren't what we were trying to save."

Two things about that line:

1. Viktor did in fact care about the plants, or at least insofar as proving the remedy worked to help multiple people. It was Jayce who was zeroing on solely Viktor

2. "Save" bring used here just shatters my heart.

This line is so, so painfully about Viktor :(

And a little bonus, as a treat:

When the plants shrivel up, Jayce immediately puts himself between Viktor and the Hexcore to protect him

He stands fully in front of Viktor, ready if anything goes further awry.

We don't talk as much about act 3 of season 1 in terms of Jayvik here in this fandom (which makes sense because it is so fucking painful) but it's so amazing to see season 2 being a natural continuation, as Jayce slowly realises what he has come to truly care about :( (It's not Hextech and bringing magic to the people)

I'm just... to be loved by Jayce Talis, man :(

more of the little stp fankid I made, still not sure on their name BUT! I have a few thoughts:

Thief. They will steal anything. ESPECIALLY shiny things such as their mothers tiara or the blade. ESPECIALLY the blade. I feel like they only exist after the ending where the long quiet leaves with the princess but they'll find away

They straight up just. Don't blink. Ever. It's worse because they have tlq's blank glowy eyes. They're also mute! They can make little sounds and noises, but they don't speak, they might be selectively mute tbh

I feel like they have some trait of each of the princesses... It'll be more aparant as they grow up, though. For now they have behaviors that resemble the beast, nightmare, specter, stranger and witch.

They would be able to hear the voices ithink . Funny uncles

There's a part of me that wants to make them like. Straight up mortal. The inbetween of life and death, change and stillness. But I'm not sure because it would be mean to their parents and ilike them

slay the princess au where the Princess and the Hero switch places. I've been imagining all the voices as chapter characters also blended with those versions of the Princess. So far I've decided his "Damsel" route would be called "the Knight" and he tries to rescue you and sweep you off your feet but he is also still chained up in the basement and he looks silly doing it. the voice of the Damsel is still charmed by the display
