I don't know if it's just because I didn't watch the first season of Euphoria live, but I feel like people are being extremely hard on Cassie for what she did in the new ep and like... really? Like, don't get me wrong, she fucked up big time, but this is basically the first time we've seen her character do ANYTHING that hurts anyone besides herself.

I keep seeing stuff from people talking about how Maddy needs to "put her in her place" and shit and like, has Maddy been a great friend to Cassie? I remember last season when she told her if she ever repeated what Maddy told her at the carnival she'd "fucking come for [her]." And obviously Maddy was at a real low point when she said that, but that's the point-- so is Cassie now.

I'm not excusing Cassie's actions (though honestly this whole Cassie x Nate plot is total bullshit to begin with imo), but she's young, has virtually no self esteem, knows only toxic relationships and being exploited, and was on top of all that really wasted. Obviously it was a bad action, but the way people are coming down on her and wanting to see her punished for this downward spiral when up to this point she's been one of the sweetest people in the show just doesn't sit right with me

I was on a college campus, walking down the hallway checking on active classes. I walked past a room and Jack Black was standing next to the door looking out. the queasy feeling when dylan and sadie start to kiss.... the growing panic when you realize they’re fully making out... that’s exactly how people should have reacted to seeing jake and taylor. people either ignored this gut feeling or completely didn’t have it, and that’s a problem. how blatantly the film cuts to the chase and doesnt beat around the bush isn’t just a perfect demonstration of how taylor is committed to allowing herself to fully present and process what she really went through, but of how committed she is to using her art to prevent other young women and vulnerable people from finding themselves in similar situations, whether it’s from their own heightened awareness or the awareness of people around them who can step in if need be
