Imagine post-therapy Bill being assigned by the cosmic forces to stay with you for reasons unknown.... I have this specific scene in my head where you sit outside in the middle of a midnight snow storm and the wind is whipping but the snowflakes are huge and puffy and somehow everything seems calm in the middle of all this chaos and-
He turns to look at you, half buried in snow and under all your layers, the snowflakes lulling to flutter down gently around you... And usually his first bubbling instinct would be to flip a gasket and ruin any semblance of... whatever this sappy nonsense is, but there's something in him, painful and fresh, and yet desperately longing, There's such an innocence to all this, an innocence that seems accidental and should be inconsequential, but... It reminds him of him. Small, wide eyed, blearily looking up at the unbridled beauty that was the stars above. It still hurts, it aches and stabs and you're here looking too, and there's someone here who sees this that isn't him and finally, finally he's not alone in this and-
He tears up, and you don't see.
Ford grapples with the immorality of his actions. His deal with Bill, creating the portal, possibly bringing Weirdmageddon into Earth, shakes him. He throws himself fully into his work to try and survive the nightmare realm.
He tries to find ways to make sure that doesn't happen again. He keeps a close eye on Bill, creates a lab at the edge of nowhere, and constantly experiments. The reader watches as he spirals into madness, but she doesn't fully comprehend what he's up to until it is too late.
Ford found a way to separate good and evil, to defy the duality of man. He wanted to erase all his hubris and selfishness, to make sure he'd never make dangerous decisions ever again. His mind was a weak and exploitable thing. He' is being's the only human being in the Nightmare realm- Other than you, that is. You both are so, so mortal and small in such a dangerous place. He needed to push away his fear to help you survive. He needed to protect you. He wanted to run away from his guilt. So, he creates a Jekyll and Hyde formula, to push aside the parts of himself that would put you and the world in danger.
He gets exactly what he wanted.
However,
Ford notices gaps in his memory. Similar to the time he's possessed by Bill, he wakes up in strange places, a wrecked lab, and a fearful Reader.
He managed to remove the more cruel parts of himself from his psyche as Stanford Pines. However, he's left with an alter ego that makes awful, evil decisions.
He seeks Bill, but the demon laughs at his hubris and accusations. He didn't have a hand in this.
This, was all him.
Or rather, him and the Other. Also, this'll be kind of a short-ish dark fic.

TLDR: GUESS WHO DISCOVERED THE WONDERS OF JEKYLL AND HYDE THE MUSICAL? FORD PINES IS ACTUALLY REALLY ATTRACTIVE AND AMAZING AND I WANNA DATE HIM SO I'M WRITING AN EVIL FORD FIC
Inspired from this song: Transformation
we need more asshole!Ford fics. The man has the tendency to be utterly unbearable and pompous, and i fuck with that heavy
I think the fact that Bill did not, in fact, chose Ford is so fucking funny. The sheer amount of coincidences that had to happen for them to meet are astounding. Bill having interacted with the shaman thousands of years before, the area the shaman lived developing into Gravity Falls. Gravity Falls as a place attracting weird things. Ford deciding to study weird things. Ford being a scientist/ having the knowledge and skill to potentially build the portal Bill needs. Ford deciding to summon Bill at all, despite the shaman's warnings!
Like, imagine you're feeling hopeless and your world is literally dying around you and then some guy, who has the potential to solve all your problems AND seems to have stepped out of one of your wet dreams, just HAPPENS to knock on your door, completely unprompted, and go "excuse me, can you help me?" my god, I'd be clingy as hell too!
number 15 erased Fidds' memory from traumatizing pastime with Ford
Weirdmageddon but Bill and the Henchmaniacs aren't trying to terrorize everyone. they just want somewhere new to live and they just casually move in and become part of society
Ford is baffled because everything Bill has said and done has pointed to it being much worse but Bill just says he misinterpreted and Ford really should get better at social cues. He recommends that he gets assessed for autism and Ford goes "you and I both know that wasn't because of autism"

A big thanks to the wonderful @mushroomstairs for coding & lettering the instruction panels! Here are some closeups and the the pinball design flats-
read on ao3 Rating: Teen & Up Type: Multi-chapter Chapter: Quantumly Yours (1/9) Tags: Ford Pines/Reader; Strangers to Penpals; Strangers to Disgruntled Peers; Strangers to Vague Respect to Oh-No-They're-Hot; Gender Neutral Reader; No pronouns used (as any accurate descriptor); Inaccurate Technology for Sake of Plot; Additional Tags to be Added Summary: "The idea of thirty years' worth of mail is bothersome, and now it just feels like an overcast reminder of just how many bridges he has burned. But it feels obtusely preemptive to just be rid of them all on the spot. Maybe there are genuine pieces of correspondence in there. Peers. Professors. Professionals. People who wanted to engage in dialogue with him -- surely not all of them would be so egregiously casual in tone as the initial one. When he is alone again, Ford reaches down, pulls the letter from the bin, and rereads it." While taking a break, you ship yourself up to Gravity Falls for a few months, definitely for the fresh air and definitely not to coincidentally cross paths with your unintended penpal of the past few months. The universe grants your wish: you do meet him. Under perhaps the worst set of circumstances.
