Exercises for all the homies who want to have a long career drawing.

The true problem with being an artist and drawing all day (as I wanted my whole life) is that human backs are not designed to hold that position, so it is very common for artists and designers to have really stiff shoulder blades, creating a chain of muscle strain towards the arm AND the back… and a lot of pain.

These are some physical exercises for artists and honestly anyone who works at a desk.

Elphaba being an idealist while Glinda is a realist always gets to me. Like you would expect the girl who’s been ostracized all her life for being green to be cynical and think that the world can’t change. But no, Elphie is all starry eyed and hopeful that she can change the world. That she can fix its wrongs and create a better future, not just for her but for every citizen of Oz.

Meanwhile Glinda, the girl who’s had everything, admiration, money, etc, knows how the world is. She knows that the world is led by those who are popular despite their talent or lack thereof. She knows how to play the game, knows the rules of the game, and knows that not playing by those rules will make you an outsider. She’s already resigned to the world as it is.

A reminder that Glinda having either dyslexia/dysgraphia or a learning disability is canon in the Movieverse.

This is the same paper that we see her get back in this scene, in which we can see this was a large essay too.

There's nothing rushed to her handwriting, this was not an essay done at the last minute, and still, it shows several signs of a learning disability and/or dysgraphia.

Misspells her name in the second line

Wrong and inconsistent pronoun usage

Her margin spacing is consistent with someone who can't do proper syllable division

Immature transcription (see: writes her "um"s)

Limited vocabulary

Shows signs of: difficulty expressing ideas in writing, having a limited vocabulary, mispronouncing words or using a wrong word that sounds similar, and having trouble organizing what she wants to say. Those are all symptoms of a learning disability.

Less of a checklist sign, but her handwriting is very round and careful, while still not being consistently sized (see unfashionable). This and the margin sizes are very common in kids with bad dysgraphia who are made to take rigorous calligraphy courses to "fix the problem". Courses that work on the visual without remedying its underlying issues and causes. Form over content if you will.

Looking at this very blatant sign that she has a learning disability and immediately defaulting to calling her names (yes calling her stupid and saying Elphaba is a moronsexual for this counts), asking how she got into Shiz, or defending Dillamond in doing the very first thing teachers are told NOT to do with disabled students (re: calling attention to it in front of the entire class) is ableist!

this is really stupid but ever since reading the yangchen duology im just imagining the “lover of the avatar afterlife” and its all just girls and then there’s kavik in the corner and they’re looking at him like WHO THE FUCK BROUGHT A BOY HERE?? 😭😭

Another one of my many headcanons is that Avatar spirits actually do get to roam the spirit world freely like 99% of the time. The only time they have to leave the spirit world is when the current Avatar needs guidance or when said Avatar goes into the Avatar state:

Roku, in the physical world: Avatar Kyoshi, I seek your council

Kyoshi, pulling away from Rangi with a loud sigh: sorry, gotta take care of the newbie

The Patron Sorceress and the Wicked Witch

As a celebration of Of Emeralds and Trumpeter Swans (OEATS) 50th chapter, I’m sharing a project that I worked on with the amazingly talented @vickychendraws!

With permission, I’ve decided to share the commission I got from them of our beloved Ozian witches! Ofc it wouldn’t be OEATS without Birr and Tiger (Lzar) too!

I’m so happy with the result of this commission, and I’m so so glad Of Emeralds and Trumpeter Swans has become a favorite over on Ao3. It means a lot to me, especially when the story itself had a bit of a rocky start.

I think the real tragedy of Wicked is that no matter how many times you see it or listen to it or whatever you believe that this time something will be different, this time Elphaba will stay or Glinda will go or Elphaba comes back but it stays the same. The alternate paths are just barely out of reach and that’s the real gut punch

no no cause the thing is- i think its super curious that within the wicked fandom glinda is really fucking popular. we love our little blonde witch over here.

but the casual wicked viewers, people just watching a movie, are almost always anti-glinda. I've seen a couple of like post-wicked-coming-out-on-peacock-first-watch videos on tiktok now and they're all like "fuck glinda, she's not her friend"😭

Thropple playing catch with the braincell

Fiyero occassionally catches it, but most of the time it just hits him and he's hit with a brilliant idea.

Galinda's hardly trying to catch it, she's too busy playing other sports with other people.

So most of the time, Elphaba's stuck with it.

Rest assured, all goes to shit when they lose the braincell.

In my manic pixie dreamland, wicked: for good ends with Glinda returning to the emerald city after no one mourns the wicked utterly defeated. She’ll begin the process of taking off her makeup and her Glinda the Good Witch mask when there’s a tapping on her windowsill. She walks over and low and behold there’s a note waiting for her. It’s a short folded piece of paper tied to the balcony that simply reads “hold out, my sweet.”
