Corey tried his best to arrive on time, as he only occasionally went to social gatherings after past experiences. He had worked hard to keep the station in line, and on top of its game within his field of work. He never liked to be overconfident, but if there was one thing Corey was proud of.. it would be how much he liked his job, and knew how well he did it.

Taking a break from the crowd, the male escaped to the nearest balcony hoping not to be too noticed as he took in some fresh air. Mike had been invited to this top tier party to celebrate the city’s police, firefighters, and paramedics. It was a pretty stuffy affair- even for him. There were lots of people talking and being congratulatory (a world he knew well) but there wasn’t a lot of substance going on. 

After all, the funds had been raised long before the first dinner plate had been set down.
