It’s that time of year to say no to the Salvation Army.
Never forget they let a Trans woman die instead of helping her.
Never forget they have tossed entire families on the street for having an LGBT child.
Never forget they tell non Christian families that unless they convert they will not help them.
Never forget that the Salvation Army is bigoted and hateful, many of the bell ringers routinely heckle and harass LGBT couples.
May your pain medication always kick in right after you take them. May your compression garments always slip on your body with ease. May you always find your footing when you walk. May you wake up with energy and zest. May your sinuses always be clear

I have a story I want to write for NaNoWriMo and a character I have in mind would need to be handled with care.
The character in question is a 2nd generation immigrant from a pair of Filipino parents who's relationship with his mother is tenuous at best because of a language barrier. He is named Luis. The idea in my head is that Luis' father wanted him to assimilate to Western norms in the hope that he would have a better/easier time, and so he never really let Luis learn Filipino, and Luis' mother's grasp of English is fairly weak overall. Luis is also a high school student living in Vegas, going to a magnet school for computer engineering/tech stuff and he's also being the sound engineer person for a podcast with his childhood friend, Jane.
Before I go any further with this, I was wondering if there were any POC 2nd generation immigrants I could consult.

I totally forgot nanowrimo was a thing until write this moment but I kinda want to try it.
Also, I've decided to let myself make "bad" art and write "bad" things in the hopes that telling myself it's okay if what I write/draw/make is bad because until very recently I've been getting so caught up on making sure the things I do are "good" that I just haven't been letting myself do any of the things I like doing.
So yeah, I'm thinking I might write a bad novel for nanowrimo for funsies

New Money Making Idea: I'm going to take food, form it into squares, and then freeze it. Then I'm going to sell it as health food cause it's "Three square meals a day" The food may or may not actually be healthy, and I reserve the right to deep fry any or all of it.
Imagine a brick of spaghetti, complete with meatballs and sauce, frozen and then battered and deep fried. That is the kind of horror I will offer to the world.
