I was going to do a Camp Camp one, but then I remembered the Merc Trilogy and I-
Tumblr’s at it again, thanks to the new European Privacy Laws. There’s probably nobody who will read this, but it pissed me off so much that I decided to make a post about it. (Ignore the weird language mish-mash, depending on your country the language might differ.)
OK, so many of us get this screen when we try to access our dash:
Realise how the ‘OK’ button is a nice, attention-grabbing blue? If you’re like me, you’re not exactly into reading a 100 pages document and tend to just click it.
My tip? DONT. Instead click on ‘Manage Options’ right next to it:
Now you’ll see this page:
Still pretty harmless, right? That ‘Accept’ button is looking really attractive right now. Instead, click on Verwalten (Probably something like ‘Manage Options’ or something in english) and you’ll get to this page:
Now that’s not too bad, right? I just switched all the buttons to ‘off’, because I’m jealously guarding my personal information and don’t want Tumblr to go off and do who knows what with it. Looks like we’re done! But wait: There’s a SHOW option.
When we click on that one, what we will get is this:
A HUGE list with OVER 300 ENTRIES of companies that can use your data by default if you’d just clicked ‘OK’ on that very first page. Coincidence that this list is hidden that much? Me thinks not. They’re all switched on by default, but I am still a petty bitch that doesn’t want to give out her data, so I switched them all off. All 300+ of them. There is no option to switch them all off at once, and even if you disable all the options above, the companies are still switched on.
(If you wonder how i got that number, I copied the list into excel and looked at the cell number. No way am I actually counting all those entries)
every tumblr user: despite the fact that no one views or cares about my blog, i will continue to spend the majority of my life updating it
It had 69 notes and I hate having to ruin it but my sense of morality (for once in my life) outweighed my sense of humor.
Needless to say Darlings, messages like these are spam. I’ve been getting multiple lately, and whilst I have simply been blocking them, I realised that some of my followers with smaller follower counts, might need a heads up.
Do NOT follow the link and do NOT reply to them.
Block them swiftly and let others know of the risks.
Stay safe Darlings 🖤
"No actually, I delight in being soaked in a torrental downpour whilst leaning against my car in an existential crisis"
Perhaps insane or simply shocked with odd cop in mechanisms, the stranger let out a bubbly, real laugh. Not a nervous, awkward one, just an unhinged laugh full of amusement and emotion.
"Well then-" They tipped an old fashioned top hat out of nowhere, pivoted on thier heel, and flashed a charismatic wink. "-call me if you go back on that statement"
I felt a slight pressure on my nose, and gazed upon a card resting upon its bridge, somehow balancing. It held a jumble of letter and number, and the blacks of the font seemed to shift as I blinked. The background was a shimmering fold with a pristine white outline. By the time I looked up they were gone, the rain slowing to a drizzle, then halting completely. The card was still dry, my sanity most likely un intact.
"Fuckin hell mate it was sarcasm."
Maybe stating the obvious would be better than staring at the cursed card, and maybe I need more sleep.
Everything had gone wrong today. First your microwave had almost blown up on you, shorting out the electricity in your home and leaving you without breakfast, then you had been early to work for once, only to find that the company had folded, and you had lost your job with no notice or lick of compassion. After that you had come home, only to find your partner cheating on you with someone else, in YOUR home, on YOUR bed, and it was only after two hours of emotional arguments and shouting, that you had managed to eject them from your home, and call someone to change the locks immediately.
Overwhelmed and exhausted, you had decided to take a drive to clear your head, knowing of a small beach a couple of hours away. Now here you were, engine having failed in the middle of nowhere, keys accidentally locked in the car when you had gotten out to check, and trapped in a very sudden downpour.
Completely drained, you slowly sank down onto the wet ground, folding your knees up to your chest as you tried to blank it all out and not break down completely.
Thunder rumbled ominously overhead, as if to remind you that things could in fact get worse, and you grimaced, resigned to whatever fate had in store next. Distracted by the weather and your own misery, you didn’t even hear or see the stranger approach until you found a jacket being held above you, shielding you from the increasingly harsh rain.
Startled, you looked up to find the stranger smiling down at you awkwardly, their beauty surreal, and their strange eyes seeming almost inhuman with their shade and sharpness.
“Need some help?”

Silently you stared at your best friend, trying to absorb everything they had just told you.
“You’re……you’re certain?” You asked hesitantly.
Frantically your friend nodded, clutching tightly at their shirt as they fought back tears. The sight made your chest ache, though you couldn’t blame them for it. After all they had been through, and everything that was happening now, you were surprised they were holding up so well at all.
Letting out a shaky sigh, you rubbed your hand over your face, heart aching at the sight of their fear, their fear of you, of your reaction. Your heart only ached even more as you opened your arms to them, seeing their genuine shock at the display of acceptance. Bitterly you swallowed back your anger, wishing you could get revenge on every one who had betrayed them, but knowing that your friend needed you to be with them right now.
As they practically folded themselves into your chest, body trembling, you rubbed your hands up and down their back, absently taking in the new chill of their body, the chill that would now forever be a part of them.
“We’ll figure it out together, alright? I’m not going anywhere…. We can get through this” You promised firmly.
You pretended not to hear the rough sobs and broken thank yous they let out, as they curled even tighter into you, afraid to wrap their arms around you, like you did them. Silently you wished for every single person who turned their back on them to face retribution three fold for all they had done, wishing that you had been there to shield them from the heartbreak.
They never deserved this.

I don’t know if this post has been made yet but I just want to warn everybody that if someone stops you in a parking lot and asks you if you’re interested in some perfume and hands you a paper to smell, PLEASE DON’T SMELL IT.
i repeat, DON’T SMELL IT.
Apparently the sample papers are being laced with a drug to knock you out. Please signal boost this. It can save someone’s life!
