Some of my Atla headcanons nobody asked for part 4:

Aang names every single animal he meets. He can see an insect chilling right next to him and be like "oh, hi Bob" or something

When Zuko told the Gaang about how he got his scar they all climbed on him and forced him to be hugged for a few (tearful) hours afterwards

Suki likes to draw and when Sokka finds out about it he definitely signs them up for these artistic dates or something

Toph made her statues herself

When Sokka admitted to his family that he forgot what Kya looked like everyone was utterly shocked and told him he's almost identical to her (yes, Sokka cried after hearing that)

After the war Iroh starts calling Zuko "son" instead of "nephew"

Zuko still can't get rid of the bad and scary burden the word "father" has so he still calls Iroh "uncle" but being called son by him makes him so so happy

Iroh has a tea blend for every member of the Gaang so when they come all exited and he can't catch what they order in between their conversations (or when they come sad and can't utter a word) he knows just what tea to make

Atla Gen Week 2022.

Day 2: Culture.

The Fire Nation has some strange and extreme customs. Some just.

In the first vignette, teenage Azula, Zuko and Lu Ten walking uphill toward a volcano. The setting is tropical and the three are seen from the back. Azula says “Since the last eruption of that volcano 50 years ago, new species of plants continue to be found”, Lu ten replies “Excellent! It is an opportunity to see first hand what is there”, and Zuko mentions “Who knows, we might find some hallucinogenic mushrooms that I’m missing”.

In the second vignette, Zuko and Azula are shown in the foreground observing some mushrooms on some rocks with other plants. Azula says “I don’t think you have those in your collection, Zuzu” and Zuko adds “I had never even seen this mushroom before”.

In the third vignette, Lu Ten quickly snatches the mushroom from the rock and chews it, saying “For science!”, while Zuko and Azula look scared and surprised yelling “Lu Ten, no!!”.

In the fourth vignette, there is a note in the Recipe Book that says “An investigation after the incident with the Fire Lord Lu Ten, the use of that mushroom was allowed as an ingredient for an exotic culinary sauce, which properly prepared and depending on its concentration, its effects vary from sweating to hallucinogenic visions”. Raine and The Catts: *Looking at Darius, because even though they’re thrilled to have Hunter here, they know very well that he is not an angel, and that he also bites when he feels threatened.*

Eber: *On Darius shoulder nodding happily in agreement. Despite knowing that Hunter’s not an angel, and knowing that he’s the one who taught Hunter how to bite when he feels threatened.*

I read a HC that there were gaang + mai + ty lee dolls and action figures after the war. Cause they were famous, and heroes.

Now I CA t stop thinking about Mai despising doll-Mai, and Zuko absolutely loving it. Cause, you know, it’s Mai! He can’t not love mai!

Hidden scene idea where, after Azula's defeat, the Fire Sages approach Zuko with a shaving blade. His stomach drops.

'As is customary. The loser shall be shorn of her hair' they say. Zuko snatches the blade and throws it into the grate, into the waters down below. He sneers at them, the effort having exacerbated his pain.

'Customs are changing. Starting here and now. If you get anywhere near my sister, it better be because you've got a doctor with you.'
