On the one hand I feel like Lu Ten absolutely would buy Zuko a bunch of expensive stuffed animals to try to one up the GAang, but on the other hand I really need to resist the urge to give Zuko an army of stuffed animals.

Lu Ten, shatters a window and climbs through it:
Lu Ten, turns around and helps Baby Zuko through it: Breaking and entering is wrong Zu.
Baby Zuko: Okay.
[Kindergarten AU]
Lu Ten: You wanna talk to her?
Baby Zuko: Yes.
Lu Ten: Go on.
Baby Zuko: *nods*
Lu Ten: Oh, and Zuko?
Baby Zuko: Yes?
Lu Ten: Don’t come on too strong.
Baby Zuko, gets on one knee: Come home with me.
Baby Katara: Who are you?
Baby Zuko: The man who’s gonna marry you.
Lu Ten: *facepalms*
I want a scene, post Azula reconciliation, where there's a quiet moment between her and Zuko and Iroh on Lu Ten's birthday when she starts laughing. She looks at Zuko and is like 'do you remember when Uncle and Lu Ten came back from Lu Ten's military training and we decided to jump him to test him?"
Iroh, who has not heard this story, is curious and confused as Zuko digs for the memory.
'Oh yeah! It was so late and we'd stayed up for hours! Mom sent us to bed but we wanted to stay up because' he looks at Iroh 'you were in your gift-giving phase and we wanted to see what you were going to bring us'
Azula continues the explanation to Iroh. 'We snuck into Lu Ten's room, we waited for HOURS.'
Iroh, bewildered but intrigued, nods. 'We had been delayed on our way home'.
'Right,' Azula continues. 'So we're almost asleep hiding behind Lu Ten's curtains and he FINALLY gets there. So we wait and then...'
Azula's giggles are punctured with a snort as Zuko continues the memory, looking at his sister as though it had been her idea, but he had been far too eager to see his cousin and play again.
'You charged and grabbed him; he screamed so loud. Then I tried to follow, but I had been tying knots in the curtain cords and got caught up and tore the whole thing off of the wall. We were all covered and couldn't see anything and you were still trying to fight him under the curtain-'
'While you were both screaming!!' Azula howls in laughter.
Iroh listens happily; beaming and very happy to hear an unheard tale.
Azula continues. 'He picked us up by our collars like it was nothing. I was still trying to fight. He puts us on the floor and says 'So help me Agni if you do that again I'll make sure Dad never has to buy gifts while on tour ever again.'
Iroh laughs at Azula's spot-on imitation if his late son.
Zuko laughs as well. 'But then we hugged him.'
'Oh he MELTED,' Azula adds. 'He hugged us back so tight. I... I think that had been the first hug we'd had in a while. We dogpiled in his bed and he told us stories until we passed out.'
'Which wasn't long.' Zuko says.
Iroh looks at the siblings as they reminisce; he wipes a tear and hugs them, hoping to emulate Lu Ten's hug that had once given them comfort they didn't know they needed.
'Thank you.' He says. 'He never shared that with me.'
'It... might not have seemed important.' Azula says, still getting used to hugs from her uncle. She awkwardly pats his arm as they part.
Iroh laughs. 'Or maybe he didn't want to admit to his father that he had been ambushed by children. But... often the things that may not seem important, in time, become the most special.'

Day 2: Culture.
The Fire Nation has some strange and extreme customs. Some just.

In the first vignette, teenage Azula, Zuko and Lu Ten walking uphill toward a volcano. The setting is tropical and the three are seen from the back. Azula says “Since the last eruption of that volcano 50 years ago, new species of plants continue to be found”, Lu ten replies “Excellent! It is an opportunity to see first hand what is there”, and Zuko mentions “Who knows, we might find some hallucinogenic mushrooms that I’m missing”.
In the second vignette, Zuko and Azula are shown in the foreground observing some mushrooms on some rocks with other plants. Azula says “I don’t think you have those in your collection, Zuzu” and Zuko adds “I had never even seen this mushroom before”.
In the third vignette, Lu Ten quickly snatches the mushroom from the rock and chews it, saying “For science!”, while Zuko and Azula look scared and surprised yelling “Lu Ten, no!!”.
In the fourth vignette, there is a note in the Recipe Book that says “An investigation after the incident with the Fire Lord Lu Ten, the use of that mushroom was allowed as an ingredient for an exotic culinary sauce, which properly prepared and depending on its concentration, its effects vary from sweating to hallucinogenic visions”. WARNING very graphic visual of Lu-Tens last moments. the footage shows, how prince Lu-Ten son of Iroh second in line. has to fight off on his own, two small hatchlings, both enraged by their pray being stolen. and you can clearly see, how his father, the general, dragon of the west crown prince Iroh, JUST SITS ON THE SIDELINES SIPPING HIS TEA AND LAUGHING HIS BELLY OF!
If there’s anything Iroh misses about his time as crown prince, it’s getting to roast his little brother at any given moment
(Also this sort of pertains to my own headcanon (vaguely inspired by the comics) that Ursa is a proficient dancer, and often performs for big celebrations)

Atla Gen Week 2022.
Day 5: Childhood/children.
This is a glimpse of our AU “Fire Sage Lu Ten”.

In the first vignette, a pre-teen Lu Ten confidently and excitedly says “I’m a prince!, how hard can it be?” he holds Zuko and Azula who are little children in each arm, Zuko in the right arm and Azula in the left arm, they are holding hands on the front of Lu Ten. In the background on the left side it reads “Babysitter for the first time” with emphasis lines on the edge of the vignette.
In the second vignette, in a darkened stillness, Zuko and Azula are floating, both with glowing eyes, mouths open as they hold hands. Lu Ten screams frightened. End ID].

I’m just so in love with the idea that Zuko and Katara refuse to let their kids be mostly raised by nurses & maids, so instead their kids go to meetings with them until they’re old enough to watch themselves.
They end up getting really good at multitasking: feeding/burping/changing/etc. all while being able to talk about policy and whatnot (and yes, sometimes they talk about taxes in a baby voice to entertain the infant).
