pls look at my Cool Power Point that i spent way too long making
the "you're cargo" to "it's okay, babygirl" to "it wasn't time that did it" pipeline goes so fucking crazy bro
Something I've realised recently is that my perception of pain is a mess. I had a headache the other day (probably tiredness or hayfever related you know nothing that unusual) and it just... Didn't occur to me to take painkillers? I think I having had a several year period with chronic pain which didn't respond to pain killers has just got me completely out of the habit of taking them for even really trivial stuff.
My face is having uncontrollable spasms. Great. It hurts really, really, really bad.
I think part of why I have trouble explaining pain to the doctor is when they ask about the pain scale I always think “Well, if someone threw me down a flight of stairs right now or punched me a few times, it would definitely hurt a lot more” so I end up saying a low number. I was reading an article that said that “10” is the most commonly reported number and that is baffling to me. When I woke up from surgery with an 8" incision in my body and I could hardly even speak, I was in the most horrific pain of my life but I said “6” because I thought “Well, if you hit me in the stomach, it would be worse.”
When I was 6, I had tendon transfer surgery to finish correcting my club foot. Although I'd spent a good chunk of time in hospitals, this was the first overnight stay I'd ever had. My younger brother picked out this plushie to give to me to take with me, and it still sits beside my bed.
Todays beanie of the day is Hello Kitty (gold angel version)
Was I theoretically aware of how tall Aabria Iyengar is? Yes. Had I truly processed it until seeing this image? No.
okay I've never seen this show so I can say nothing about the characters but like... that lace is ripping me right out of the historical period it is so obviously completely modern and machine made and polyester WHY MUST YOU DO THIS!!!! quit it!!!! pay for proper lace making!!!
"The Buccaneers" Wedding of the Season (TV Episode 2023)
current least favorite thing about my latest chronic illness flare up is how boring it is like I'm stuck lying down in bed and my brain won't let me do anything
like I was going okay I can't go into uni but I guess I can write my papers but nope not an option so then I was like well I can write fic but no also can't do that so then I was like okay let's watch the eras tour movie and I only got half way through that!!!
the point here is I'm bored and have most of the next chapter of my Tess lives story written but it's all disconnected scenes that I need to join up and I want it done and it's not :(
okay but imagine everything that could've been avoided if Paul and feyd had just done this, it's not like Paul or Leto Jr. (Leto II? no idea) actually cared about their political marriages anyway
The Bene Gesserit: All these years of careful planning wasted. The Duke's child was meant to be a girl and marry Feyd-Ruatha, uniting the Houses of Harkonnen and Atriedes.
Feyd: yeah but like where's the problem?
Bene Gesserit:
Feyd: I mean I'm not gay but I'll fuck him if that will keep you all quiet for five minutes.
Paul:
y'all are gonna break me this is perfection
but like I do regret we didn't get to see more of Tess and Joel as smugglers in Boston - Joel is fairly openly dealing to FEDRA and Tess seems entirely unthreatened by Robert who seems very powerful. These two survived long past everyone else because they were *good* at what they did
do you ever think about how joel and tess were together long enough to see each other start going grey
Apropos of nothing let me say that while I absolutely agree that Joe and Nicky’s “Depends on the century/We fight for what we think is right” answer to Nile’s question about whether they’re the good guys is partially a reference to their murder-related meet-cute situation, when it comes to who might be feeling guilty about the decisions that led them there…one (1) person in that relationship signed up to travel to a foreign land and conquer a city full of people (which, famously, ended in a massacre) on the grounds of My Religion Says We Should Be In Charge Here, and his name is not Yusuf ibn Ibrahim ibn Muhammad al-Kaysani.
el, she / her welcome to my brain dumping ground, expect varying and frequent dumps of a large variety of fandoms, including some fics I'm working on and most likely plenty of cat photos
