all the tips I found for drawing a fantasy map are like :) “here’s a strategy to draw the land masses! here’s how to plot islands!” :) and that’s wonderful and I love them all but ??? how? do y'all decide where to put cities/mountains/forests/towns I have my map and my land but I’m throwing darts to decide where the Main Citadel where the Action Takes Place is
Everyday I hope a bridge falls on Constantine
I do see people talk about Constantine one-sided beef with 12 year old Vertin (and the proxy war against Manus that it represented) but god the Mesmer scenes fucking get me. Mesmer was willing to rebel against the foundation—she sings with Vertin! She wants to know more about the outside world!
And then Constantine say you want to know about the world? Fine. And she makes Mesmer play Doctor against the most vulnerable and unstable of people the foundation has. Here, Constantine says. This is what the outside world is like. This is the truth. And then immediately afterwards multiple of her classmates die trying to leave during the storm. It’s a statement of “Don’t step out of line, or you will die.” It’s the conditioning of expects at the St. Pavlov’s Foundation.
Make no mistake though Constantine only did this because she saw Mesmer Jr as a useful tool—if she wasn’t part of the Mesmer family, she probably would’ve have died as well. So basically she inflicted immense trauma onto a 12 year old because she sees said 12 year old as an asset.
And I think three doors basically emphasizes that this is not an uncommon occurrences for the Mesmers, both in and outside the family. They are only truly valued by what they provide to the world, and not as people. Scott Mesmer is thrown away and discarded until his death, and then all of his “value” is scraped up as a way to appeal to society’s good graces.
Anyways. Mesmer lore makes me go oughh

Keith: edgy Reaper main. Always sticks to the classic skin. 21+ hours on Reaper. Doesn’t understand why people call him edgelord for it. Unironically uses the highlight intro where Reaper draws his finger over his neck.
Lance: mains as Widowmaker and is actually pretty good at sniping. Still would choose Widowmaker even though there’s already 3 on the team. Never stays on the payload.
Hunk: the Good Citizen Overwatch Player™. Says Hello to his teammates every round, protects the healer, and always congratulates the winning team. Pretty versatile but mains as Zarya.
Pidge: Nerf this
Allura: A beast at Pharah. Can use rocket barrage without dying most of the time. Always yelling at the others to move the payload. Has to defend the point by herself.
Coran: The camping Bastion. Doesn’t even know why people call him an asshole for it.
Shiro: The one that begrudgingly switches to Mercy or Zenyatta because no one else wants to heal. Cries in silence as his teammates all abandon him and he fends for himself. Gets POTG anyways. Wants to use Genji. Already level 100 by the first week he gets the game. Hasn’t slept at all.

use & for friendships, colleagues, familial relationships and use / for romantic or sexual relationships (or encounters)
not everyone reads fic. Lots of people use screen readers, and screen readers can’t see what’s on images. use descriptive text to help them out.
lots of people download fic to read on other devices, not all downloads capture images too.
there’s a big difference between No Archive Warnings Apply (NAWA) and Author Chose Not to Use Archive Warnings (CNTW). NAWA means that there’s nothing in the fic that needs to be warned for using the official Archive Warning system. CNTW means there might be something that requires a warning and the author is either avoiding giving out spoilers or they are unsure how to interpret their plot point with respect to the official Warnings. (in both cases, additional tags are where it’s at - you can explain yourself there)
the reason why the number of bookmarks in the fic is different from the number of bookmarks on your stats page is because your stats page number includes bookmarks that are hidden
there’s a preference setting where you can receive emails with your own comments/replies.
there’s a site skin that hides stats so you don’t have to see them
writing in rich text format makes my life easier
knowing html allows me to do fun things in the comments section like comment/reply with reaction gifs
knowing html also allows me to do interesting formatting in my fics that I can’t do with rich text alone
those little blue bubbles with the question marks in them will answer my questions a lot of the time - and also teach me something new
the FAQ is linked under the word About in the header
if you write your fic in the draft window, you might end up losing it so make sure you copy the text before you hit Post, just in case
they aren’t kidding when they say drafts are deleted after 30 days
