Javelinas at my old feeder. Hunting is awesome but many ranches round abouts have killed off their javelinas because they eat under the deer feeders and scare the deer. People are surprised that I have any around. So for me its 'how to keep the pesky deer from eating my javelina food!' Javelinas tend to have 2 "reds" or a set of twins. See one in the pic.
Hard to play hide and seek when you’re a cow!

‘Texas alfalfa’ aka Red root pig weed! The bane of farmers! The love of ranchers! Colloquial name? Careless weed! It could care less where it grows! This is growing in a neighbor’s wheat field. They don’t last long on the ranch!
My sister is about to juice and freeze prickly pears. Its a process we burn the thorns off w/ a grass burner then rinse them well then juice, pour into water bottles and freeze. High in betalains and other anti oxidants prickly pears are good for us. Coyotes, deer, and other animals consume these in late summer.
Bumped into this lady today near the woodpile. Glad to have her around as she hunts snakes. She is immune to rattle snake venom which is a great reason to have her around in South Texas.
Setting a new blind out. This blind isnt going any where when your bro works for a metal business.
Awesome day trip to the "WOODS"! Anyone know what this is?
Mostly photos of my life in South Texas. I share what I love. The Outdoors and Ranch Life.
