Camp again, for the last time.

Well, I’m off to my last year at camp.

Like last year, I’m queuing larger versions of my drawings from my most recent sketch dump on Deviantart. One will be posted daily until I get back from camp.

Here's a painting I did when it was still technically winter, before my tablet got messed up. I wanted to paint the orange winter skies.

Help, I'm coming up with a sequel before I actually make the first story.

My female characters at 22 instead of fourteen. (I’m coming up with ideas for their futures.) I wanted to clean it up more, but I ran out of time because I started like five new drawings.

I forgot I made this because I was unhappy with the hair, but I have nothing else to post, so, whatever. The fire girl's hair was based on a picture I saw on tumblr that I wasn't able to find again, so i couldn't use it as reference. I did braids on the other girl because I found a great new tutorial, but I mad them too big on accident... whoops.

Her name is Barria, and she is one of my four antagonists.

This was originally a practice in exaggerated skin tone variation that I ended up liking. I'm sorry that updates are spotty lately. D: Before my tablet starting having issues, I had a big project I was working on, so I didn't end up with much of a buffer. I was going to clean it up before posting but this is last minute.

Hey, guys. I'm not going to be able to update this weekend because my intuos is having issues. The pen pressure has stopped working, and the fix I used last time isn't working. Do you know any tablet fixes?

Lantana fashion subcultures 3/8: Extreme Lantana.

Extreme Lantana can range from this, straight up zentangles, or paint used in a way to make people look like living art.

She's using her air powers to push herself off of the railing. Don't worry. She's fine.

Old art 5/7. Sorry I didn’t get to post anything last weekend. I didn’t finish this until Tuesday, and by then I figured I should just wait.

This drawing was for my advanced drawing class. It took forever to draw and edit, but it still looks ugh.

Lantana fashion subcultures 2/8: Futuristic Lantana. Drown out the sound of the city.

This is excluding the female leaders of countries because they have a much more complicated relationship with defining how feminine they are. I also excluded all biological mothers besides Lily. Also I ran out of room.

(Also I heard this was international women's day so this fits.)

So, I came up with about eight Lantana fashion subcultures, and I'm starting with the weirdest one. Many of these, like this one, are reactions to typical Lantana culture.

This is called Pure Lantana. In this, people take parts of themselves usually seen as ugly and make them match with the rest of their style. For example, instead of hiding stretch marks, people paint over them with face paint. Instead of shaving their legs, women dye their leg hair to match the hair on their head.

More old paintings! This was painted with acrylic. It's interesting to compare this with a much more recent painting.

Another year old painting I did for my advanced painting class that I photographed for my portfolio. It was made with oil paint. It is based on someone else's photograph, but I lost the link.

I painted this last year for my advanced painting class, but I never put it on here because its too big for a scanner. However, I had to take a picture of it for a scholarship portfolio. If its good enough for a scholarship, its good enough for deviantart and tumblr. This is of a lantana, which is what Lantana Kingdom is named after. Lantanas are usually multiple colors, but I had to limit it to gold so the color scheme would work.

???

I attempted animating hair in photoshop again! Avoiding tweens and not trying to make them blink at the same time really helped. There is still weird things happening that I don't understand, however.

I realized that I haven't drawn enough guys with Lantana fashion.

Here's a dramatically sized down version of a painting I did for illustration/manga class. It's of one of my newest characters, Mica Mineral, in her formal clothes. She is Echo's best friend, and she is mtf transgender.
