Autonomy without accountability is useless. You're free. Free for what? Free to do what? We need to specify. You're not free to fly like a bird and fall like a stone. You're not (always) free to travel without a visa.

If you want autonomy you have to be accountable for something. The reverse is also true: If someone holds you accountable for something, they should give you autonomy.
It's irrational to want happiness while knowing about all the fucking world events and personal tragedies
But there's no other way to achieve happiness
You cannot keep the events and tragedies aside. You have to live with them. And by being irrational about it, by still wanting to be happy despite those things, you'll get happiness
It's rational to worry about finances and parents, be irrational and be in the moment, and think happy thoughts
Have you forgotten her yet?
"Not yet." replies the prisoner, just like yesterday and the day before and the day before that.
"Then you'll stay here till you do. I'll come back tomorrow."

part luck + part privilege + part hard work + part talent
Luck and talent cannot be controlled
Privilege can be influenced or bought
That's why we focus on hard work
But if we don't succeed, it's not always because we didn't work hard enough
And actually it's almost always luck

Of hard truths that rarely get told
Of soft lies that comfort the bold
Human beings are not rational being, we're rationalizing beings
