1. They are Endangered due to habitat loss and poaching
2. Chinchillas can jump as high over 6 feet high
3. chinchillas have dichromatic vision meaning they see the same way as dogs do
4. Chinchillas Use Their Fur as a Defense Mechanism (shedding large patches of fur in a process called "fur slip")
5. They have the densest fur of any land animal and are so dense they have to take dust baths (because mold can grow on them if they get wet)
6. dust baths help remove loose hair, dirt, and skin, and absorb oils
7. Chinchilla fur is so thick flees suffocate in it
8. Their teeth never stop growing
9. They are one of the longest-lived rodents
10. The name chinchilla comes from “little Chincha”, that comes from the Chincha people
11. they can overheat easily from human body warmth.
12. According to the Guinness world records, The oldest chinchilla ever recorded was named Radar. He was 29 years and 229 days old.
