Completely out of left field here, but I can’t let yall forget that I’m fandom trash so easily. That being said, Gatsby people-

I completely understand the appeal of sweet little nervous Nick Carraway (especially when considering ship stuff, I see the appeal) HOWEVER, I would like to remind everyone that this is the man who gets practically no sleep throughout the events of the book because of everyone else’s bullshit. This man is sleep deprived and, supposedly in his own words, honest. Please please please, particularly in all of our dear fix it AUs, let us see more extremely sleep deprived and brutally honest because of it Nick.

But J! I hear you ask, what about the sweet nervous idiot of the friendship/relationship? My answer is simple: Jay Fucking Gatsby. This idiot almost fell down the stairs because his crush looked at him, he is downright horrible with anxiety, for god’s sake listen to Only Tea- you want a nervous stuttering idiot in that duo/ship? It’s Jay Gatsby. I don’t make the rules and honestly I want to see more of it rather than him always being the super confident one because he just. Wouldn’t be. That would be Nick through and through

After a week and a half of work I’ve finally done it. My first animatic fittingly for my favorite song from one of my favorite musicals.

I’ve been a huge fan of Little Shop pretty much my whole life so it only felt right that my first animatic be for it. Additionally, I’ve just been cast in a production of it and I needed to do something huge for the show. What started as a little 30 thing turned into this 5 minute love letter to this stupid song.

Finally another full out for me to post lmao. This piece is my thank you and love letter to my first show of my current drama season: PUFFS! A hilarious Harry Potter Parody, this show has grown to be one of my all time favorite comedies now. The plot is entertaining, the characters lovable, and the final message a strong one. I’m going to miss this play so very much and will forever be grateful for my chance to play Megan Jones with this amazing cast. I hope this silly thing can help portray all the love I have for this show and our cast that I cannot put into words. Thank you, Puffs, for everything.

Back to our regularly scheduled Gatsby Posting as of late. This time the song of inspiration is The Met from The Great Gatsby Musical! I would be a lying fool if I said the symbolism in this song has not had an iron grip on my writer brain from the very start. I adore the blatant spotlight it places on Nick and his constant being overshadowed and almost hunted by those around him throughout the story. Seriously, whoever wrote these lyrics, you are great. Also Noah J Ricketts an absolutely amazing Nick I just have to say that. I will absolutely be continuing to loop this soundtrack and am actively trying to plan a trip to NY to see the show live because if I don’t my sorry English nerd self will perish.
