He expects a soft little laugh. He thinks, even a few hours ago, he would’ve gotten one. Instead, she leans forward, her fingers curling over her  bare toes, her knees pinned between her chest and the starpane. And her eyes — her eyes are suddenly big and glossy and wet, gemstone-tears suddenly balanced on her lower lashes. It feels like someone’s broken through all his ribs, gripping his heart in a vibranium fist. “Don’t make me stay on Cyxlore,” she says softly. “I won’t try to make you take me if you — if you really don’t want to. But I’d rather be here. With you.” A soft inhale. “Please.” His stomach drops out. You ready to beg yet? he suddenly remembers asking her on the rain-slick floor of her Arete cage. Well. Here she is, begging, and he’ll be an ass if he ignores it. And an ass if he accepts it.  The line of her nose and cheeks gleam with starlight. The blanket around her shoulders shifts down, pinned between her back and the cold metal wall, and the soft curves of her breasts press against her thighs. The Monster can see the shape of them, rounded and squished at her sides through the sleeveless armholes and under the edge of his too-small Sneepers shirt.  She’s so far away, and he can see her dying all over again. okay, we're reaching the next phase. an agreement has more-or-less been established. hang on with me till chapter eleven or so and we'll start moving into real plot i promise??? (okay don't hold me to that)

Entanglement

Rocket no longer had the energy to care. He was weak from hunger; his food ran out five days ago. His mouth felt tacky, his tongue sticky and too heavy in his mouth. Rocket opened his last remaining water pouch and drank a few sips. It took all of his willpower not to down the lot in one go, but he resealed the pouch and set it carefully on the floor. So far, he’d greatly extended his survival by rationing what meager supplies were available to him. The force of habit is hard to break, so was the urge to think of his friends. Are my friends there now? Into the forever and beautiful sky?

Bro! This chapter is heart breaking. You know he gets out, but to really die scared and alone twice and for someone so young…ahh…it breaks your heart.

My heart is exploding with rainbows and happiness. This is the cutest, most adorable, perfect depiction of this scene. Your art is so damn good. Those expressions!

Rocket let Petra right himself and he took another savoring bite. Petra snuck in a bite or two, but left the majority of the pie to her friend. He kept making happy noises, and he was in ecstasies of delight as he continued to eat. As he scraped up the last bit he could with the utensil, he let his claws skitter around the edge of the dish and turned to look at Petra over his shoulder.

“Is it weird if I lick the plate too?” he asked hunching as if waiting for the rattan cane of his Sire.

Instead of answering, Petra laughed, leaned around him, and licked a line along the edge of the dish. That was all the permission he needed before greedily collecting every last bit of pie with his tongue. -Chapter 5, Entanglement by @hibatasblog. ———

I adore the story Entanglement and Amor’ by @hibatasblog and @bbasmos! I love to think of them in parallel universes, different but connected by the struggle, grief and strife of both companions. All of which comply to a deep seated love. I can’t wait for all the new chapters because I’m a greedy bitch!

Entanglement

A woman sang softly as she held Petra in her arms. Her voice spilled out into the air, a golden river of song. Outside it was windy and cold with snow, but, here, she was safe and warm and happy. Petra nuzzled closer to the woman and pressed her face into her soft sweater. The woman smelled dizzily of the fragrant Georgio Beverly Hills perfume made up of the soft springy scents of orange blossom, rich tuberose, and delicious, mouth-watering vanilla.

Petra’s mother smelled like a dream come true, and she was so, so pretty. Her eyes were clear beryl and her smile filled her heart with pure love and trust. Petra cuddled closer as her mother continued to sing.

I love my mom. She’s my rock so I really related to this scene in the story where Petra is left alone after an assault. She taps into memories of her mother to lure herself into a better state of mind. Made me happy… till it didn’t. (Spoilers!)
