Every time I ask myself "How many fandoms am I going to put this same duo in?" the number is higher
nothing fills my heart with more violence than the sight of a naked wrapping paper roll
this is how Cain killed Abel
Unfortunately I DO think there's something inherently romantic about literally turning yourself into someone else's heartbeat
when thinking about twst my mind always eventually bounces back to thinking about the little first year gang, because they're such a disaster group.
like arguably, none of them on their own are grade a troublemakers (except Grim). If we're going by chaos energy on their own, characters such as floyd, kalim, jade, lilia, ect. probably wreak more havoc. hell most of the dorm leaders, as intelligent as they are, are so arrogant that they cant seem to stop pissing others off.
but the first years have the terrible curse that their brain seems to fall out of their asses the moment another first year is nearby.
ace is the best example, we know from chapter 7 that he has a good head on his shoulders, but the moment an opportunity to mess with deuce/prefect/grim arises he throws all caution out the window. despite the voice inside his head screaming danger he can't ignore the siren's call of starting shit.
deuce, on the other hand, is a character that literally can't seem to avoid bullshit. He's trying so hard to be better and YET he keeps getting wrapped up in these looney toons ass situations. he's the unluckiest first year, and is also easy to anger and even easier to fool.
Epel is a good enough student when he's surrounded by the rest of pomefiore (who are arguably more insane than him) but he also can't ignore the allure of chaos. imo he's the enabler, with a personal philosophy of "you can solve every problem if you hit it hard enough"
jack tries really REALLY hard to not get involved, but he's also too emotionally constipated for his own good sometimes. remember that scene in stitch's event where he tries to help riddle and azul with carrying heavy items, then to cover up for his display of kindness he tries to be all like "psh yea you guys don't look that strong" and riddle prompty obliterates him for saying that. yea that. keeps shooting himself in the foot
ortho seems like he'd have a good head on his shoulders, but he has the same amount of social tact as idia. i mean he's really nice right up until the situation gets dire, and then he starts calling his friends idiots. he's absolutely correct btw, but ortho don't say that out loud
and finally sebek, who tries really hard to not be associated with the rest of these hooligans, but is argueably the worst person here. yells at everyone, insults everyone, sebek is the friend you cannot take out to eat because he doesn't know what an inside voice is and doesnt understand why he has to wait so long for his food despite the fact you're with a group of 7 during the busiest time of the evening.
Grim is like. the final piece to this puzzel. all the first years need a bit of chaos to get truly started, and grim cannot stop causing problems
Yeah Verlaine sulked in a basement for six years but Rimbaud gave up the last scraps of his identity, broke his own self-imposed rule of not having friends/lovers, wrote in his journal like a lovesick teenager about how he would "walk through any hell for his partner", insisted he would bring Verlaine back to France, put Mori's hold on the mafia at risk and attempted to kill two children to find Verlaine, used the last moments of his life to console the child Verlaine had cared so much for and then became a singularity to maybe see Verlaine again.
Bro was whipped
Profiles for both of them are here, for anyone who's interested in who these two are
Both of them go to Twining Fates Academy (a school I entirely made), and they're in their third year
They've been the student librarians since their first years, which is... distinctly unusual, as most student librarians are second or third years when they take the role
It's an open secret among the library assistants and frequent visitors that Aster straight up refused to take the role unless Adie was the other student librarian
As a result, there are some questions as to whether he's actually worthy of the role, especially since he seems like the type who would never speak a word to another living person again if given the opportunity
There's also some people who think Aster shouldn't be a librarian, but nobody's willing to challenge him
Aster has a ridiculously large magic pool for a human. He's not godlike, but he's still leagues beyond other humans
Despite this, he seldom casts magic outside of classes, even in situations where he'd be perfectly allowed to
He's also extremely cautious about blot accumulation, to the point where many people see it instead as paranoia
Adie has a tendency to stare into space, and has scared the hell out of several of his classmates by staring at the area where they happen to be located in
He also scares the hell out of people by appearing on the scene of trouble very quickly after it starts, as if he's got eyes all over the school
Adie is fae, and was born in Briar Valley. He has wings that he hides using a glamour charm in his cloak pin. Partially so that he doesn't stand out, partially because they're rather large and unwieldy in narrow hallways. He just hides his ears with his hair
He hasn't mastered the spell to glamour them himself, so, cloak pin
The two of them have exchanged friendship bracelets on the Day of Fateweaving every year since arriving at the school
it's so wild to me that you absolutely cannot force a hyperfixation to happen. like you'll watch the most perfectly tailor-made-for-you content that everyone says you'll love and feel absolutely nothing, and then the thing you watch on a whim to fill time will reach through the screen and put its damn fingers in your brain and start rearranging the neurons right in front of you and every single time you're like THIS??? THIS??????? and this happens like every 6-12 months forever
The NRC Gossip Club would include:
Ortho "can dox someone within a milisecond" Shroud
Rook "is hiding somewhere in a tree" Hunt
Cater "snooping through your Magicam" Diamond
Lilia "knows your uncle's friend's cousin's kid's dogwalker" Vanrouge
Jamil "a totally average guy" Viper
Jade "looks mature but knows a lot" Leech
Ruggie "will sell information for a donut" Bucchi
Officially wrote out the school information. Will probably keep everything for this under the tag "Twining Fates" for the sake of organization.
If I'm not gonna work on my assignments I might as well commit to working on the creative thing. Tumblr I'm relying on you to hold me to keep working until I have a full fic and not give up halfway through.
Basic concept: Fake TWST event ft. new made-up school cause I wanna do SOMETHING with it.
Event plot line goes as follows: Despite the first Promising Young Mage Social ending in disaster, the schools agree to attempt holding it one more time. This time, the hosting school will be Twining Fates Academy, due to the school having a reputation for its extremely safe, controlled campus. Crowley ends up raffling another 10 students, but that number goes up to 14 due to the inclusion of Ramshackle dorm + Twining Fates specifically noting that groups of visitors should come in even numbers.
Note that this would take place in what I am referring to as my "Double-Yuu" AU... hence why the inclusion of Ramshackle brings the count to 14.
Explaining more later
Star - It/its || If you found this blog then congrats I guess. I really don't what I'm doing here this is just a thought dump for my hyperfixations
