hayley rounded the corner, anger laced in her furrowed brows as she heard the altercation miles ahead. it wasn't smart to be feeding like this just moments after the recent murders broke to the public, so she was going to make it stop. either this kid was the one going after all the supernaturals or he was extremely unaware of his surroundings, either way she could handle it. walking into the alleyway, the hybrid glared at the other, making her intentions very clear from her facial expression.
"no, i don't want to feed on someone in public after news of a serial killer is lurking these streets." shaking her head, annoyed that he used the word polite. "are you going to continue to cause a scene or finish this up?"
open ! tw: mutilation, gore, murder
This city was both entirely different and exactly the same as when he'd last seen it. The best part, of course, were all the aimless tourists, pretty college girls, and drunk bar-dwellers. It was his day back and he'd feasted like a king. It was magnificent, after so many years of desecration.
He leaned against a brick building in a dark alley, waiting to pick his victims off slowly, one by one. Whoever threw out the trash next would surely be in for a surprise. Hell, maybe he'd stick around and relish in their fear before enjoying a snack for the road. A girl stumbled out into the alley alone, clearly drunk. She spotted him immediately, covered in blood fang down. His eyes found her before she could scream. "You're going to come here. You will not make a sound. But don't worry, you will enjoy this."
Laurie tore her throat out with no hesitation, even as he felt a pair of eyes boring into his skull. "I'm so sorry, that's not polite of me, is it?" he said as he pulled away from the woman's neck. He still had one hand around the back and he pushed her forward with it. "Would you like some?" Blood dripped from the gaping wound at her neck, and her head fell limp to the side. "She's just divine."
gabriela knew that asher didn't realize whose complaint he was hearing, so she decided to not add too much snark into the reply. "yeah, well last time I checked, I pay a lot of taxes to keep these lights on, so if this is problem due to that, then i'm gonna complain...." trailing off, the demon scanned the streets to notice that something wasn't right. the moon was full, but it wasn't meant to be. "but it isn't, of course it's something more than that. come on, we need to get out of here. the bayou is much safer until we know what is going on." it wasn't often gabbi was happy that their demon abilities caused their kids to become hellhounds, but tonight happened to be the first.
Asher sighed as he heard someone else complaining. "Listen, I get it. Boo, hoo all the lights are out. Go get a candle like everyone else." He told them, exasperated. "Seriously, it's like living in a town full of cry babies. Just don't set any fires I'll have to put out later, that's all I ask. Ya know, aside from the 'stop whining' bit. And play safe. Wax play is for experienced adults."

No longer a danger to herself or others She made up her mind and laced up her shoes Yelled down the hall, but nobody answered So she walked outside without an excuse She can do anything she wants to She can do whatever she wants to do She could go home, but she's not going to
once getting their drink, gabriela's attention quickly went back to their daughter, noticing anger bubbling in her chest. narrowing her eyes, she watched as kaya spoke a name into existence that she had tried to keep locked up tightly in her past. she wasn't able to hide her reaction, almost choking on the drink before placing a finger up. needing time to gather herself before even daring to explain who raymis was. taking a bigger sip of her drink, she placed it back on the bar and sighed. this wasn't the time or place she planned on telling her daughter all about her torrid past, filled with violence and a darkness she hoped to never possess again.
"that name does mean something to me..." placing a hand on her daughters, she took a deep breath. "raymis and i knew each other when i was a working for arcadius. i gave a demon my soul because of what happened to your aunt and that's why i am what i am now. raymis and i were together for a little bit but nothing serious ever came out of it. so whatever he has told you, it's not true. you daddy is tyler lockwood." she mocked the term raymis loved to be called, rolling her eyes before tilting her head. "i'm sorry i never told you much about those days, they are just very dark for me. it's hard to not have your daughter think you aren't a monster when you are a literal demon."
"Ah, shit," Kaya said under her breath when her mom sat down next to her. "Busted," she joked, giving the bartender a slight nod when he looked in her direction. Surely just one more couldn't hurt anyone.
But how was she supposed to tell her mom about what had happened? About what that demon had said about her? Was there even any truth to his words? She hated how easily her mom could tell exactly how she was feeling with a quick glance. Despite desperately trying to keep her feelings on the inside, they always leaked out into her expressions and body language. Her shoulders tensed even more, her anger squeezing them in.
"It's fine, Mom," Kaya commented, "If I said the name Raymis... would that mean anything you?" The demon raised a brow, looking at their Mom, watching for any change in their expression.
"no, i've never seen you as a monster, you babygirl are a big part of my light. i guess i don't even think that i am a monster, it's just weird being a demon and well you are too. a part of you is demon and that is something i really hope you will let me help you with," gabriela nodded, kaya would have these abilities to sense evil in others and even more than that. it wasn't exactly clear the powers her daughter would possess, but tyler and her were so sure they wanted a baby. after adopting they decided to try one last time and it managed to work. so much changed in the demon after getting pregnant, feeling as if some anchor was now placing her firmly on the earth. yet, she also knew not to put such pressure on another being. so instead, gabbi ended up just not explaining any of it correctly, until now. "yeah, it'd be impossible for you not to sense that. raymis is a darkness that even i still shudder to think about, but i didn't let him win last time and i plan to keep it that way."
taking another gulp of their drink, gabriela did their best to not fill with rage in front of kaya. she wasn't the source of any bad feelings, raymis was and that was who she'd save that for. "did he tell you anything else that you are worried about? he's good at doing that, making people question their goodness or just a basic detail of their life."
Kaya turned her hand over and clutched her mom's, knowing that she likely didn't want to talk about the topic at hand. If Kaya hadn't taken three shots in rapid succession, she probably wouldn't even have asked.
"It's okay, Mom." Kaya tiled her head to the side, looking at her mom with a smile. "I would never think that about you. I'm half of you, and you don't think I'm a monster, do you?" she asked, with a kind of arrogant smile, because of course her mother would never say that about her. "I have been experiencing things recently... demon things, I guess. I don't know how else to describe it. Like, I could sense this darkness in Raymis that I'd never felt from anyone else before."

it was impossible for josie to not find out, that hope was back in the city. the two ended on not so great terms a few months ago, causing their european adventure to be cut short. both of them held too much grief and shared the inability to cope, a recipe for disaster when it came to any relationship. once finding out about the murders, she realized that delaying their meeting was not going to work out. knowing that if anyone was going to join the crusade to figure out who was behind this, it would be the trusy tribrid, someone josie loved dearly.
taking a deep breath as if to gather courage, the siphoner knocked on the door of hope's old room. a place that would never change thanks to caroline. after a rthymic few knocks, josie placed her hands behind her back, gripping her wrists tightly as some way to hold back all her feelings. if hope does open the door, what the hell was meant to be said? i love you? i'm sorry? can we just go back to before? the endless questions began to give josie a headache. regretting the idea of doing this in the first place.
"hope, please open the door. i just need to know you are okay."
eleanor was still getting used to being alive, so even though she felt beautiful in the dress, she was also filled with nervousness. the only people she'd been around were her family and fiancee. people who looked at her like a fragile doll. so maybe this party was a good thing, she could wear a mask and pretend to not be some dead girl. yet when walking into the room, she felt instantly embarrassed, a feeling that hasn't left since crawling out of her grave. even when nikolas would shower her with kind words, it felt as if they just passed through her body. lost in worrying thoughts, she didn't even notice that someone stepped on her toe. "oh gosh! no don't worry! i wasn't even aware i was standing near someone, this place is beautiful but terrifying."
open to all.
she felt awkward, social interaction was something she didn’t like, but forced social interaction in a dress, that was making blossom feel more uncomfortable than anything. the voices in her head telling her that something was going to happen and maybe that made the unknown banshee even more uncomfortable. she stepped back from where she was standing, instantly regretting it as she could feel herself tread on the other persons toe. “oh..shit..”she murmured, more to herself. turning she look at the other, stupid masks, made it impossible to know fully who the other person was. “really sorry for treading on your toes..really need to think where I step.”
the strength card // upright: inner strength, bravery, compassion, focus // reversed: self doubt, weakness, insecurity
i'll be right there, but you'll have to grab my throat and lift me in the air, if you need anyone. i'll stop my plans, but you'll have to tie me down and then break both my hands, if you need anyone. -- twenty one pilots jumpsuit
gabriela grew up knowing that a lot of inner strength was needed to push through the harder times of their life. being a foster child required a lot of bravery, something that she does her best to teach her children as they grow. their chosen family is the main focus for them and they will not allow anyone to just come and take it. something gabbi has always held too much of, especially for a demon, is compassion. only in her darkest time after becoming a demon, did she ever possess the ability to harm others.
but, with raymis back, there is a lot of self doubt in her good qualities. because it was them who saw her at her truly darkest moments. for her, it was a time of weakness, but it wasn't seen that way with raymis. power was always the end goal and an when filled with insecurity, gabbi can be lethal.
can gabriela keep her soul and family safe?

her eyebrows rose at his quip, taking a deep inhale, trying to stuff away her annoyance. josie had met eli before, her family became much bigger after her mother married klaus. something that she found helpful after the merge. losing such a huge part of her, still never healed but having so many people around that cared, helped her on the darker days. rolling her eyes she looked up to eli and then back at the papers. "yeah well there's a first time for everything." once grabbing the last piece, she managed to shuffle them back into place before getting up from her knees.
"you know for being so tall and strong, you could've put that to use with the cleanup." brushing her legs, she placed a hand on her hip. josie was exhausted so that made her tempers flare, but eli hadn't really done anything wrong. it wasn't his fault he was built like a quarterback, sighing she smiled softly. "sorry, i uhh haven't really slept well so any minor inconvenience has just made me grumpy."
Eli had felt the same shift as other had commented on. It felt like something big and insidious lurking in corners, but no one had any idea what. As he made his way through town, he saw the female and smirked to himself. Of course Eli had the arrogance not just of that of a mikaelson but also from his father and that gave him an unruly confidence. As he approached his cousins friend, he was soon colliding into her as she came crashing into her body.
He had stopped just before her but not seeing him had caused his larger frame to knock her back and her paperwork fall to the ground. He looked down to it before moving his hues upwards towards the other for a moment as she spoke. "Well that's not exactly the greeting I was expecting...I don't usually hit girls off their feet... although seeing them at my feet isn't that uncommon.." he remarked.
josie had been in a mood since her and hope's european dark magic adventure. despite loving her job, deep down it always felt like something was missing because that was reality. a very part of her soul had left her body the day of the merge, never to return. it haunted her to this day, every dream being turned into a nightmare of the same ending over and over again. with a coffee in hand and headphones blaring music to help wake her bones, josie managed to catch a glimpse of someone she hadn't seen in awhile.
"mia?" she questioned to herself, before walking over to the other and smiling once certain. "i know where you parents are, welcome back or are you just visiting?" the siphoner always wondered where mia up and went to, it seemed as if it happened in the middle of the night.
Mia climbed out of her cab and paid them and then stepped into the street, looking up at the city streets. It was hard to ignore how big the unknown city was when all she had was an address for her parents new place. "I should have got a better map," she muttered to herself before looking up and spotting someone. "Do you think you can help me?" She asked. "I'm looking for this-" she said, holding out the music page she had written the address on. "House... can you point me in the right direction?"
