Strong characters who don't show any fear. Even when captured. Even when they're on their knees, with their hands tied behind their back, when a fist or boot or weapon is about to connect with their face. They don't glance up in fear, they don't flinch, don't attempt to make a miserable attempt to fight back or run. They don't beg or plea. They simply take it.
They're not resigned. They're just biding their time. And waiting.
OMG
whumpee being kept as just a blood source~
it’s just so much more dehumanizing, getting tossed around and kept restrained and covered in bruises and bite marks all the time, always on the precipice of deleriousness from the constant blood loss. weak and angry and desperate but too drained of blood and energy to do anything but snarl and struggle weakly against the ropes that keeps their hands behind them
five dialogue prompts for characters who have a hard time resting :)
"Don't sit up. You'll rip your stitches."
"You need to calm down. Your heart rate is spiking."
"Stop trying to get up. I don't want you fainting again."
"Lie back down, please. Your fever is too high for you to be moving around."
"I know we have to keep moving, but if we don't treat that wound now, it'll slow us down even more."

“So this is what you do? You find little broken dolls, fix them up only to break them again?”
Whumpee breaks free from their captors grip - but not from the base they’re held in. They find a small desk against the wall and collapse underneath it, frozen with fear.
They hear footsteps hunting, looking for them, but they have yet to be found.
They don’t dare look, even when whumper’s noises go quiet. Hours pass and they’re paralyzed, the footsteps have changed to not one, but many. Frantic, heavy, with voices shouting their name.
Eventually, the desk gets grabbed and yanked from over them. The atmosphere changes from safe, to a cold wave of dread.
“Whumpee! Whumpee look at me!” A voice shouts. Two hands grab and shake them, trying to get them to uncurl.
“Whumpee it’s me, it’s me. Please look at me, I’m not going to hurt you. Look at me-” Caretaker frantically cries, wrapping them in their arms and pulling them out of the corner. They cradle them in hopes they’ll snap out of it, they can feel whumpee shaking and panting, but still locked away like they’ve dissociated.
“…What… Have they done to you?“
Whumpees been taken for ransom from right under caretaker’s nose. Weeks pass before they get the call with demands for a chance at getting them back.
But caretaker will hear none of it until they hear whumpee’s voice over the phone.
“Whumpee are you okay?! Have they hurt you?” They cry over the phone.
“….”
“I’m alive.”
I've accepted the guilty pleasure of cliche as my one true lord and savior by now
''there's only one bed.''
''i'll bandage you up.''
''who did this to you?''
''i didn't know where else to go.''
''can you be my date to the wedding?''
''you're my best friend. i've always loved you.''
''shut up.'' ''make me.''
''i would never fall for you.''
''then why did you do it?'' ''BECAUSE I LOVE YOU''
''oh. oh.''
“Do I know you from somewhere?” The villain asked.
Something about the cashier looked so familiar.
The hero stared coldly at the villain as they scanned their milk. “You almost killed me last week, testing a homemade explosive. The cops were called.”
The villain perked up. “Ah, yes! Now hurry up. The butter’s melting.”

A fun whump aesthetic: a character being helped out of heavy plate armor
Is it done fast, blood-slick fingers pulling at straps and hastily undoing buckles, the pieces thrown carelessly aside to be picked up later, time is running out and they need to get all that metal out of the way to treat the wound underneath?
Or slowly, gently, telling the character that shh, they can rest now, they've done their part and done it well, others will take it from here?
Harshly, on a captured enemy knight, forcibly stripping them of first their weapons and then their armor as they're fighting back tooth and nail, to put them in chains afterwards, vulnerable without their armor in the light, sweat-drenched shirt and arming jacket and breeches they wear underneath?
