Dear Right Wing Christians, stop violating the First Amendment, and harassing Pagans.

Pagan sues Panera Bread Company alleging religious discrimination
Religion News Service
(RNS) — A former baker for the chain said she was told that she 'needed to find God,' according to a court filing.

According to the lawsuit, the subject of McCoy’s religion came up in late May of 2020, when McCoy was on break with the store’s assistant manager, Lori Dubs, and the manager, Kerri Ann Show. Show asked McCoy what her religion was, and Tammy responded, “I am Pagan.”

Show reportedly responded by telling McCoy that she was going to hell, and Dubs “vigorously nodded her head in agreement.”

The lawsuit then goes on to describe a series of other discriminatory actions. Among the complaints are that McCoy’s hours were cut, and when she asked why, she was told that she “needed to find God” before returning to her “previous schedule.”

The comment section for the Wild Hunt's article on this case lists websites, addresses, and email addresses for Pan American Group.

If you contact Pan America Group (which also operates a number of Applebee's. Taco Bell, Arby's, Pizza Huts, and Wendy's) and/or Panera Bread Corporate offices to notify them that you're boycotting their stores because of this case, please, please use civil language so as not to adversely affect the plaintiff or her case in the media or to prospective jurors!

Cool Romanticism Facts

-Lord Byron was the inspiration for his doctor Polidori’s vampire, Lord Ruthven. He’s also a national hero in Greece, because he died fighting in their War of Independence against the Ottoman Empire.

-Mary Shelley is best known for Frankenstein and editing her husband’s work. However, she wrote several other novels. She was bisexual, and had a relationship with Jane Williams, which ended badly.

-Claire Clairemont in addition to having an illegitimate child by Byron, was fluent in five languages, including French. She outlived the majority of Byron and Shelley’s social circle.

-Percy Shelley was expelled from Oxford for his atheism, and died in a shipwreck. The death of Claire Clairemont’s illegitimate daughter by Byron haunted him.

A timely reminder of how multi-cultural the ancient world really was.

Seated Buddha Bronze, 1st to mid-2nd century, Gandhara (modern Pakistan). Collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York (X).

This is one of the earliest depictions of the Buddha in human form. Gandharan artists were familiar with Greek and Roman art from military expeditions, diplomacy, and trade. This Buddha’s unique halo is reminiscent of depictions of the god Helios in Greek and Sol in Roman art. The drape of the tunic echoes Hellenistic and Roman garments, as well as depictions of the Iranian god Mithra, and the Roman god Mithras.

Historic Sit In

Just found out today that one of the first sit-ins in America happened at the Alexandria Library in 1939. This was started by a black lawyer named Samuel Wilbert Tucker, and while he lost the case, Tucker continued to fight back against segregation and was part of the NAACP.
