"You are my sunshine"

Pearl & Coda centric short comic for my Alterna au

The AU settings

Lyrics: You are my sunshine, my only sunshine
P1: Pearl is playing an acoustic guitar with baby Coda on her lap
P2~4: Pearl looks down at Coda and her eyes indicate a smile
P5~6: Coda reaches down and plucks on a string
P7: Pearl leans down to give them a kiss on the head, Coda giggles in response

Lyrics: You make me happy, when skies are grey
P1: A 10-year-old Coda excitedly looks at the sky, with their hands on the railing of the roof
P2: Pearl, leaning on the railing, looks at them with a smiling expression
P3: Long shot showing that they are looking at the skydome in construction, with machinery working to fill in the giant panels in the distance, Coda raises their hand to point at it.

Lyrics: You never know dear, how much I love you
P1: Coda, now a young adult, is arguing with Marina fiercely. The argument ended with Marina walking off while Coda keeps yelling, Pearl grabs their shoulder from behind
P2: Pearl grabs both of their arms to try calm them down, while their eyes still fixated on the direction Marina left in
P3~5: Pearl tries to sooth them by touching their face, but Coda sternly shoved away her hand and looked away, which caused a shocked reaction from her
P6~7: Coda walks away from Pearl, leaving her with an expression of resignation

Lyrics: Please, don't take my sunshine-
P1: Pearl stares directly in front with a mortified expression
P2: The nurses taking care of Marina are looking at the same direction and appear distraught
P3: Marina, in the same mortified expression as Pearl, has covered her mouth with her hands. She's already tearing up
P4: Pearl strides with urgency towards the direction they are looking at
P5: A flashback to baby Coda in Pearl's mind, who's waving at her and smiling
P6: Pearl running towards the source with her left arm reaching out, she has tears streaming down her face, she screams out a single name
P7: Coda when they were 10 years old, waving and smiling at Pearl, they are turning away
P8: Coda as an adult, with their back turned and face invisible, they are walking away, further and further

Lyric: - AWAY.
A full spread, Pearl runs with her arm outstretched towards the full glass windows. In the distance, a massive explosion occurred as the space ship crashes into the skydome. The overloaded skydome flashes red warning signs as they're breaking down, with many of the panels already blacked out of glitching

hi phoenix girlies i made more sprite comparisons because they are so fascinating to me. the way he takes so many mannerisms from people who are important to him or had an impact on him or are parallels to him. and then passes them on to people he has an impact on. i love the visual storytelling in these games so much.
