I'm Sorry, But You Cannot Convince Me That Vetinari And Death Are Scary People. In My Book, Scary People

I'm sorry, but you cannot convince me that Vetinari and Death are scary people. In my book, scary people don't leave dog biscuits on their animals grave every week for over a year. They also don't try to pick up a book that's so big it crushes them and they have to call their roommate servant for help.

They're just little dorks that have to throw their weight around sometimes for the greater good.

(I woke up thinking this and had to share. What has my life become?)

Lurking Fear (1994) has got some of the most untapped potential that I've ever seen in a B-rated horror movie. Like, there are so many aspects of it that could have been really cool, but the only real thing it delivered was an awesome Jeffery Combs performance (as if there's any other kind).

The designs for the monsters are actually pretty cool as long as they aren't lingered on for too long. For the majority of the movie, their pretty spooky because they're only seen briefly as they attack before they disappear. We only see the maimed townsfolk and the aftermath. But then that one started talking and I kid you not, I almost dropped to the floor I was laughing so hard. The delivery of "You called me Satan >:(" in that stupid deep evil voice was too much for me man.

Aw man, after sending me this how could I not? I’ll finish it ASAP 👍

Thank You!! ☺️

I'm seeing a lot about how awesome the character Trent Crimm is and how James Lance is killing it at his job. May I point you to toward the 2021 The Canterville Ghost miniseries? Sure, it's a more childish show and there were some, shall we say, liberties taken with the original source material. Also, Lance's American accent is definitely something to behold. It's like Keanu Reeves British accent in the 1992 Bram Stoker's Dracula, only reversed. However, his character is super adorable and avoids confrontation like this:

I mean, come on!

Just my humble opinion. (Sorry for the shit quality)

Were orcs ever mentioned again after Unseen Academicals? Like, we got to see golems and goblins civil rights expand throughout multiple books, but I don't remember orcs ever making a return appearance. Granted, I still haven't read every book in the series, but still...

The fact that Fionna is bragging about how many post-apocalyptic RPG's she's played while Simon's telling her not to do stuff and he's ACTUALLY survived in a post-apocalyptic world for who knows how long before he went completely insane...

We (I) need more serious analysis and comparisons of Terry Pratchett and JK Rowling.

I'm talking:

Looking at their respective worldbuilding and writing styles.

Looking not only at the series they are best known for, but also their other works and what they entail.

Comparing their fan bases, known politics, and overall contributions to the world.

Obviously I am extremely bias, but I'm tired of seeing the surface level "Terry Pratchett > JK Rowling". I KNOW that, the real trouble is how do we convert others?

I wasn't on the internet when terfs tried to claim Sir Terry and were shut down hard by those who knew him. I'm thinking instead of always being on the defensive, now is a perfect time to to go on the offense.

I just started the original All Creatures Great and Small series. I think it's really great and charming so far, but I'm only on episode 2 and they've already killed a horse and a dog. Idk if I have the mental fortitude if it's going to be an every episode thing.
