PSA: The Pink Flashing Experience Survey is STILL ACCEPTING RESPONSES!

We've met and passed the quarter mark! Simon is off doing cat things, and blissfully unaware of his condition or, more importantly, the ride in the dreaded carrier that is in his future. (He is a fierce boy when it comes to facing the vet.) I will be relieved, though, to actually get a diagnosis and a suggested treatment. Everyone who has shared this GoFundMe or donated even a little has had a big part in making this happen. We still have a ways to go, though. Thank you all!

A few tips on How to tweak The Sims 2 CC kettles / coffemakers using SimPe

Here's what I've learned so far. CRES structure is the same for most (if not all) TS2 coffee/chocolate makers.

You can adjust position of the entire thing or each part separately via Translation brackets, found in cTransform node tabs.

Coffemaker node is the first one on the CRES list - edit this to move the entire object, including items mentioned below, that are attached to it (hand slot, kettle, and also shadow).

Carafe_rot is the location of the handheld kettle part.

slot_coffemaker_target is the hand slot, a point where Sim 'grabs' the handle. Coffee stream fx shows next to it (at fixed distance). If you move the hand slot, coffee fx will also move. Distance between those two limits kettle width (unless you're willing to ignore / remove the coffee stream fx OFC).

Coffeemaker contains 8 mugs of coffee by default, it's easy to edit.

To make a functional version of the tea kettle I've used compact kettle by Oshima @persimmonthusiast as cloning material. It doesn't have coffee making animations (not needed in this case) so that's a few less things to adjust. It has custom pie menu, but you can easily bring back "make/ drink coffee/ juggle mugs" menu in all languages: clone random TS2 coffemaker, extract Pie Menu Strings resource from it and replace the one inside Tea Kettle clone.

If you'd like to have two recolourable subsets, go ahead and add one. It seems TS2 coffeemakers handle the dreaded Fix integrity quite well.. But it's best you make sure your clone works fine in the game before you start working on it ;)

Handheld kettle part will not align with the base when you extract and combine both in 3D software because - as any handheld TS2 item, it's placed almost in the center of XYZ axis. So even with reference, it might take quite a few in-game checks and corrections to properly align all the parts.

Coordinates that work for one coffemaker, might not work well for another one that's cloned from something else. Numbers on pics below are just an example.

*the pic above: that's +X to the right, or -X to the left, when looked at from the back of the counter.

You can move the entire coffemaker, or just the kettle (carafe_rot) left or right by adjusting X value, and front / back by adjusting Y value in Translation bracket. Obviously you can just move 3D models instead - takes more time, but some ppl might prefer it.

Have in mind that even if you move the coffemaker node, Sim will approach the coffemaker and hold the mug in the same place as before. Only Sim's hand will be pulled to where the hand slot has been moved.

0x2 carafe_trans is the idle position of the kettle, usually doesn't need adjusting. BUT if changing other coordinates causes your kettle to shift position when animation starts, then you could try to adjust that one as well.

slot_coffeemaker_coffeegrounds_fx is where coffee aggregates in the filter during the coffee bag animation. Unlike coffee stream, you can't hide that one, but it can be moved by adjusting cTransform.

If you're an advanced SimPE user you probably know that SimPe is using different translation system than Milkshape or Blender. Here's a tut about converting coordinates between Milkshape & SimPE.

Amount of coffee mugs per kettle is 8 by default, and that's quite a lot. If you'd like to change that, it's one number in the BHAV. Pic below (thanks @episims ) shows where to find it.

The other pic contains instructions on how to replace the chocolate* / coffee stream with invisible effect. You cannot simply delete it from the text list, it as object might (and usually will) start throwing errors.

*I always use chocolate effect instead of coffee as to me it looks a tiny bit better (less green, I think?)

The Coffeesmith Project - Mod Blend 1.5 - Barista Plus Rebrewed

Howdy, How is everyone? So, what’s this one about? Well, it works the same as Barista Plus, Except not really. This is the Proxy GUID version of Barista Plus. So a while back, a bit around the original release of Barista Plus, some people have inquired about making it better by instead of looking at a bunch of individual GUIDs, it should look for a Proxy GUID, kind of like what Argon’s Instruments does, and that has been sitting on the back of my head for a while, but It wasn’t something I was actively working on since the original release of Barista Plus. That Changed last week, when @itsdiamondeyesuniverse slid into my DMs and found some interesting information about Proxy GUID, and after a couple of hours and days with plenty of help from @midgethetree, here arrives the Rebrewed version of Barista Plus.

Edit (Because I forgot to put a quick description of what the original Barista Plus did): What the original Barista Plus (and this one too) does is that it allows Baristas to spawn in Custom Espresso Bars, what changes is how the mod does so. For specifics, the Mod looks at all objects for a specific GUID (the Fallback GUID located in the 0,0 position object) which for most of the espresso bars, that does not change at all, and it spawns the barista if the conditions are met, like I said, same deal as Barista Plus, except this one doesn’t look at only eleven GUIDs, or so, but to all instances of the same fallback GUID. Now for a bit of a warning, like I said, this GUID is going to look at *All* objects, which means it might caused some lag, that didn’t happened when I tested it, but if you have a CC Heavy Game, feel free to tell me if it does. Download Special Thanks to @itsdiamondeyesuniverse for getting me the information that helped me getting this thing started, @midgethetree for helping with the code, @crispsandkerosene and @miros1 (I hope I’m not missing anyone else) for asking if making that revision was a possibility, and Everyone at the PBK Discord for general support.

One more Ikea inspired set! :p This time, here’s some pieces of furniture for the living-room. I might make more later, but for now, it’s all I’ve been able to mesh. :D

Candle stick lights up with real flames (if you have Granthes script installed); LIATORP surfaces have a lot of slots, including below glass; KARLSTAD seatings have 3 color channels (cushions, base & feet). By the way, I’m meshing all these objects, none are Sims 2 Ikea conversions.

The Coffeesmith Project - Mod Blend º1 - Barista Plus

Hey long time no see, how is everyone doing! So this was something that was on the works for a while before It evolved into it’s own mega project, So for those that don’t know, I’m a bit of a coffee appreciator, and I like to have options for my simmies, so it became a separate project of its own. Mod Blends are just that - Mods that enhance the experience of having some of these objects within your game, as I’m about to show you, right now this is the only Mod Blend, but depending of how much I start to mess with things, others will come in the future. So, what does Barista Plus do?

Well, why don’t I show you.

this on the other hand, is a version of the game with Barista Plus In a nutshell, it allows for custom espresso bars to spawn their own Baristas in unowned community lots!!!! It has been something that has been bugging me since I found out that custom Espresso Bars didn’t have this functionality. But why didn’t they work, you might ask. Short Version: EAxis’s Spaghetti Code at it again. Long Version: It’s not that they didn’t work, they clone just fine, however, the Barista NPC Template has this unique BHAV called “Get My Stand”, basically this BHAV is the one that does the detection for the espresso bar, and io and behold, it only detects one GUID from the Uni Espresso Bar, nothing else, hence why none other custom espresso bar couldn’t spawn a Barista.

So what this does is expand the number of GUID’s the BHAV can detect, which allows for them to fully function in an unowned community lot. Right now, it detects: -Around the Sims 2′s Tea Shop Cart -Vitasims’s Victorian Tea Espresso Cart -linegud’s Elegant Espresso -All Espresso Bars I’m about to release. “But wait!” you might ask “are there any Free GUIDs I can use that are natively compatible with Barista Plus” Of course there are, I saved some from my GUID book specifically for this: 0x0093BBF0- 0x0093BBF1- 0x0093BBF2- 0x0093BBF3- 0x0093BBF4- 0x0093BBF5- 0x0093BBF6- Feel free to use any of them, but please do give me a heads up when you use them, I don’t want people taking GUID and accidentally making objects conflict. How to use them: Make it the GUID for the 0,0 Object Data, that’s it, that’s as simple as that. If you know of any other espresso bars on the wild or if you have your own already on the works with GUIDs and anything, please do tell and I’ll update the mod accordingly.
