She started off as just this weird ironic character that id doodle when I had time on my hands , but I quickly realized that I was getting A Tad Bit too attached to them (as one does) so naturally i thought she deserved some fleshing out
Their backstory is pretty consistent up until she meets Ellie (I'll get into that in a bit) and goes as follows:
Ren spent her formative years as a fugitive and moved place to place, committing the petty crime here and there . She had an affinity for technology and complex computer systems which caught the attention of some weird little crime syndicate and she was recruited by the time she was 16 (she would already be under the law's radar at this point and kind of didn't have a choice) as their engineer and spy , and earned her money from espionage gigs !
She cut them off after being sent to the wall when an infiltration mission against the Toppats went horribly wrong (aka . Being recruited and pretending to be a member , I can go into detail about that another time though @_@. it would make a little more sense for her to be sent to some prison- but if the wall can capture Henry in for crimes he was pardoned for, i don't think that this is much of a problem lol). and that's where she met Ellie !!
They'd frequent little meetups during breaks and would eventually grow to trust each other enough to escape together . And they were inseparable thereafter
Here is where it starts to get a bit weird because I wanted to incorporate some Henry timeline-alternating shenanigans in there ... So I decided that the circumstances of their relationship depends on the ending pursued . So like how Ellie is destined to cross paths with Henry , she would also be destined to meet Ren !
Take Toppat Recruits for example ... Ren would still be in the clan by the time Ellie and Henry joins ... The three of them would bond ... Ren/Ellie relationship nonsense .
In any ending where Ellie doesn't ally with Henry , she and Ren run away together and live in a cabin or something . good for them

- ellie (very recently , actually) used to have long hair but was forced to cut it after doing time in a women's prison
- is audhd me thinks . Mostly evident in her speech patterns and nonchalant behavior , but she's definitely been seen stimming by pacing around aimlessly or doing weird things with her hands . She also has an ancestral hatred for bananas
- tattoo artist as a side hustle
- hyperfocused on swords . Nobody knows why
- competent with firearms but definitely prefers hand-to-hand combat , she has the training for that; she's not the fastest runner though and ensures that she has a getaway vehicle at all times
- enjoyer of reptiles
- DO NOT let her anywhere near pretzels
- can absolutely shred on an electric guitar- has definitely attempted to make her own songs . Gravitates to indie and rock
- yes she has family , do not ask her about them . Turned to a life of crime to specifically get away from them
- you can't ask her about her levitation abilities either , because she has no idea how she got them . I like to believe that she was born with them ?? Or possibly exposure to some kind of radiation . Her powers have gotten her caught up with the CCC before and she's chosen to keep them under the radar since then

um um I want to say the earliest date was 2014 ? I used to sneak on my dad's computer and play flash games and the old legacy versions of HS was one of them lol
