i can’t explain how happy i am to see the pjo series casting kids. the reason no other rendition of pjo has ever have come close to the books is because the feeling and heart of the books can’t be replicated with an adult cast. so much of pjo is wrapped up in the fact that they’re KIDS.

all of the gods are adults, every bad teacher or monster in disguise is an adult. they rarely seek the help of adults, and mostly avoid them on quests. it’s not a coincidence that hestia, the goddess they immediately are meant to trust, takes the form of a child, or that artemis consistently takes the visual age of the teens in the hunt, or that the one ally they actually take on is rachel. and it is just not possible to achieve the stark dynamic when the cast of canon 12 year olds are played by grown adults that look like they should be holding down 9-5 jobs and then going home to kiss their wives.

the core of pjo is about children. thinking about percy grappling with immortality doesn’t hit the same when it’s a middle aged man, not a small, scared sixteen year old still learning to drive. bianca choosing to join the hunt and subsequently dying would not have been such a big deal if she didn’t have a kid brother, and wasn’t a child herself. even luke becomes a much more sympathetic villain with the context of him being so young, not when he’s some sleazy 25yo with a beard

so much of the magic of the story is lost when you take away the age of the characters. i can’t explain the feeling of reading pjo when i was 7 or 8 and looking up to the Big Kids that were funny and witty and angry and loving and smart and valuable, not in spite of his flaws but because of them, and then watching the movie and being like. oh. that’s just some guy

the presentation of percy and annabeth in walker and leah isn’t just going to be accurate to the tone and context of the books, it’s going to place these characters in a way that is actually reachable to kid viewers. it’s not going to be “here’s some woman pretending to be annabeth,” that is going to be annabeth, a young girl that they could see on the playground or in their classroom and imagine being friends with

I think Michael_B absolutely loves to vocally mimic things around him. He will sit and cluck to his chickens for hours, he meows back and forth with Enderchest in a never ending "conversation", he says "cheep cheep cheep" when the birds sing outside and spends hours after c!Tommy leaves going "Hellow!?" to himself in his room. Just a very vocal and curious little guy <33333

thinking about el getting into arts and crafts in lenora.

I can't stop thinking about how Max was the first person who genuinely loved El unconditionally, without any kind of guilt or trauma that solidified their bond.

Because Hopper sold her out in order to save Will and Mike used her to save Will so of course they have guilt about that. Pretty much everyone used her before they started being kind to her but Max was different.

Max wanted to be El's friend before they even met. And after El brushed her off by ignoring her in s2 and consistently running off to make out with Mike (I assume), without hesitation she dropped whatever to hang out with El. Literally made her needs a priority, and did whatever fun things they could think of together. Trying to get to know El, help her know herself. It doesn't feel like anyone else really did that. Didn't try to lock her away, wanted her to be free. Truly free.

"you have superpowers" acknowledging that they were a part of her, not her entire being, not putting her up on a pedestal. Not trying to "protect" her from the world because her powers would make the bad men find her and take her away but for the very first time brought it to El's attention that her powers would protect her not condemn her.

Max was the first person who essentially tried to embrace El for everything she was or could be without holding her back in any way whatsoever.

tommy is a gremlin, he behaves like a sim, he’s a millionaire, he’s living in a horror movie set, he has plot armor, he has maxed out charisma stats and transcended the capacity for embarrassment, he gets zero bitches, he will talk to literally anyone, everyone he meets only has good things to say about him, he’s straight, he wears rainbow socks and drinks from a gay water bottle, a demonic doll shared bunk beds with him for two months, he loves making content, if he streams for over an hour an half he will die, he’s made a big impact on fellow ccs from how he makes content and on fans for just being himself, he loves to do legos and invites people over just to watch him do it, he got himself an internet brother except it’s not a joke anymore and they’re just real brothers, he does literally whatever he wants and it works out, he’s living his best life, we’re all just background characters in his main character arc
