I would love to hear some lore between Vex and Sunflower!!!
AHHHH OKAY!!!
(For clarity, Vex uses She/They pronouns and Sunflower uses Any)
So Isla Q is a QSMP parody rp server I'm on with @mement0m0r1 (who put the whole thing together!), @sotibllec, and a bunch of other awesome people! The island, train station, and general premise is the same as the QSMP, but the Federation itself and the general plotline is quite different. Different how, I'm not quite sure yet, but investigation is ongoing on the island!
Just like the QSMP, residents of Isla Q found eggs in an adoption center built into the wall and were assigned partners to take care of them with! My character, Vex, was partnered with another character, 02, and they chose an egg with a sunflower on its shell and named her Sunflower Due to a mix of irl factors, 02 hasn't been able to be very active on the server, which means that Vex and Sunny have grown very close.
And nowww the funky stuff. There were a couple weeks where Vex wasn't able to be on the island (school got hectic.) During this time, Sunny grew very close to one of the Federation workers who had a sharpie smile drawn on his face by other islanders named Friendly Worker. Friendly has since disappeared without a trace, leaving Sunflower confused but certain that their friend would show up to save them if he was ever in danger.
That theory was tested when, one week, the task entailed taking the eggs to an ocean monument. Sunny was slain by a guardian.
When Sunny woke up back at home, Vex was there waiting. Sunny couldn't understand why her friend hadn't saved her, and Vex didn't have the heart to tell him that the very organization he called her friend was the one that assigned the dangerous task in the first place.
Here's an elaboration of the relationship between them (with hints at Vex’s own little secrets):
You ever think about how Undertale uses Flowey to break the 4th wall, without actually breaking the 4th wall? The game merely imitates the vocabulary of 4th wall breaks...
...through the words of a grieving boy who just wants his best friend back
That's why the fallen human is essentially our "role" in the story. That's why Flowey is set up as a player parallel. From beginning to end, this was always a story about Asriel and Chara. In Undertale's story, the role of "player" is, metanarratively, the role of a ghost.
That's why the plot is so heavily character driven. That's why progress is marked by helping people move on from the past. That's why the game ends (and can only truly end) by asking us to let go.
It's a ghost story. It's all a fucking ghost story.
and is your shame helpful? is it inspiring goodness and change? or is it keeping you frozen in time unable to move on and be everything you have expanded to be?
Consider applying to join our QSMP AU Minecraft server!! We're accepting another group of roleplayers to add to Isla Quesadilla!
"20 years after the events of the original QSMP, a new batch of islanders have been brought to the island. Working together, they need to uncover the mysteries of The Federation, unfold the events of the past, and find a way to escape the island..."
(Since our project has already existed for about a year or so, you'll be introduced via crash landing (plane, boat, etc) to the pre-existing SMP!)
always excited to listen to the new tmap episodes because one second your laughing like LMAOOO bonzo lap dance and moments later all you can do is sit there like this
yugo and yuri’s iconic ep. 89 scene while i play a fitting conversation over it
Rebecca Sugar cooked with "Character whose entire existence is devoted to the service of another character who's now dead and now they have no idea what to do with themselves except live." I love that shit. I forged myself into a tool for you and now you're gone. I'm sniffing this like a bloodhound
You know what I love about fandom? That someone was so goddamned excited about something they had to make something. They had to draw something, paint something, write something, create something.
And they did it coz they loved it and wanted to share their joy with others.
I don't care whether it's a masterpiece of literary genius - all 100K words chosen with exquisite care, or a simple 1K of sparkling banter. It could be a doodle that took all of 30 seconds or a digital portrait that took hours.
I'm here for the stained glass panels, the long stitched profiles, the crocheted characters, the fics, the prose, the vids, the stickers, the tattoos, and the comics. I'm here for the words and the images, the sounds and the feels - in vivid brights and moody greys - I'm here for all of it.
So fandom creators, please keep doing what you are doing and so long as it keeps bringing you joy as well, please, don't stop sharing your work with us.
Always and forever, thank you ❤
