Just the whole entire song is so similar to them. The pain, the loss, the heartbreak. Everything Atsushi regrets, everything that haunts him about Akutagawa's death. All his hopes that Akutagawa could come back (thankfully he did but then l m a o Atsushi had to go and die •-•)

atsushi really didn't stop until he gave akutagawa his full autonomy back. he nearly got himself killed for trying back when akutagawa was a vampire and now he literally sacrificed himself for it. he truly doesn't want akutagawa to lose to himself. i'm ill. I'M ILL

Saw someone on Twitter saying that maybe Dazai image shattering and becoming the headmaster was because Atsushi saw Dazai for who he really was and now the headmaster and him are in the same level.

Atsushi witnessing the past inadvertently making him the ability user who could see the future that Fitzgerald spoke of.

That somehow Atsushi was the one who Fyodor in the past learned where the book was being kept from.

And that’s why he was called the key to finding the book and why Fitzgerald and Fyodor believed Atsushi knew where the book was to begin with.

Because they learned about it from him.

And that’s why Fyodor tells him all of this is your fault.
