Why do we say that capitalism must be “dismantled”?
You’ll hear phrases like “Smash the state!” “Eat the rich!” and “Smash capitalism!”
And, yes, of course, but… :)
However relevant those sayings are, our work must be careful, highly organized and above all planned.
Because capitalism and all of its associated systems are not discrete, abstracted entities we can attack independently.
It is a structure, like a complicated machine with many thousands of working parts…
And right now it is connected to absolutely everything.
If we do this… [picks up huge hammer and smashes the machine]
Then a lot of vulnerable people will die.
The machine was built and improved and redesigned and patched over the course of generations. It is very good at its intended purpose, which is ultimately to generate profit.
Every human being alive today relies on the byproducts of the machine to survive, without exception.
The machine’s engineers want it to keep working like it does. In fact, they want to optimise it.
That will kill all remaining life on Earth.
So, we must destroy the machine, quickly and carefully
We must examine its deadly programs and mechanics and replace them with alternatives we built together.
The engineers don’t want us tampering with the machine.
However, we make it run…
So we can make it STOP. Together.
How will YOU help us to safely dismantle the machine?
p.s. My computer is on its last legs. If you would like me to draw you a little cartoon and help me get a new computer, learn more at this post.
“Do I have to be the Mechanist, Nat? Why do you get to be The Silver Shroud?”
“Mom was the Shroud. I…what?”
Shaun looked at Nat, curiosity plain on his face. “You said ‘mom’, not ‘your mom’.”
“Well, she married Piper,” Nat said, shrugging.
“But Piper’s your sister.”
“Yeah. But Anita’s more the mom type. Now suit up or I tell everyone about that crush you have on Glory.”
“I DO NOT HAVE A CRUSH ON GLORY!”
–
In the hallway, Anita blinked back some tears. “She called me mom.” The emotion wasn’t enough to stop her from tugging at the hem of her costume.
“Yeah, Welcome to the family, Blue. Now stop tugging the hems, you look fine.” Piper smirked, giving Anita an approving look. And enjoying her wife’s embarrassment at having to wear the Nuka Girl outfit for Hallowe’en.
“It’s…a bit revealing. All you did was change trenchcoats.”
“Well, you did tell me all about the Green Hornet,” Piper answered, tugging a bright green mask over her face. “And he was a reporter, so it seemed natural. Now are we going trick or treating or not?”
i made some sharks im bored hhhhh
This adorable little robot is designed to make sure its photosynthesising passenger is well taken care of. It moves towards brighter light if it needs, or hides in the shade to keep cool. When in the light, it rotates to make sure the plant gets plenty of light. It even likes to play with humans.
Oh, and apparently, it gets antsy when it’s thirsty.
The robot is actually an art project called “Sharing Human Technology with Plants” by a roboticist named Sun Tianqi. It’s made from a modified version of a Vincross HEXA robot, and in his own words, it’s purpose is “to explore the relationship between living beings and robots.”
I don’t care if it’s silly. I want one.
I’m trying to make it like a personal goal to draw more of my lil muse dude now that I've gone into THE DIGITAL ZONE so i’ll be postin more of him soon! Also sorry for the shitty quality but Giphy killed my boy.
