When Regulus gets Sorted into Slytherin and officially ripped away from his older brother, Sirius takes the loss hard, not quite used to the radio silence or seeing his brother on the opposite side of the battlefield. He misses talking to his little brother, so he hatches a brilliant idea. He marches up to Regulus one afternoon, face contorted in anger, and yells, comment allez vous? Tu me manques! Regulusโ eyebrows furrow in confusion as Sirius stares at him, waiting for an answer, and then he understands. Je vais bien. Tu me manques aussi! Their loud voices draw a crowd, students only too excited to see the Black Brothers fighting, unaware that theyโre really just confessing how much they miss each other. Itโs a clever code that allows them to speak on occasion, just enough for Sirius to know that his little brother still loves him, that he hasnโt lost him quite yet.

Canis Major Constellation by Cocorrina
Canis Major is a constellation in the southern sky. Its name means โthe greater dogโ in Latin.
Canis Major represents the bigger dog following Orion, the hunter in Greek mythology. The dog is often depicted pursuing a hare, represented by the constellation Lepus. The smaller dog is represented by the neighboring constellation Canis Minor. Both constellations were first catalogued by Ptolemy in the 2nd century.
Canis Major is home to Sirius, the brightest star in the sky, as well as to several notable deep sky objects: the Canis Major Dwarf Galaxy, the open cluster Messier 41, the emission nebula NGC 2359 (also known as Thorโs Helmet), and the colliding spiral galaxies NGC 2207 and IC 2163.
Headcanon that Sirius would sometimes say โI love you to the moon and backโ and Remus would always answer with โI love you more than there are stars in the sky.โ
