especially because in this universe the intensity of the red in your string shows if you are close to your other half (bright red when you are really close, but a maroon-ish color when far)

also, only you can see your own string, and the only part that's truly visible is what's tied on your pinky finger and a bit of the loose part, but it's just a couple inches of it that then turns invisible so it's not a bother.

so! james' string is bright bright red, like BRIGHT red. his soulmate is close but he has no way to find out who it is until "the right moment" which is when he and his soulmate get to hold hands for the first time.

james tried to hold hands with EVERYONE (who was willing and with a bright string as well, he's not daft) on the gryffindor tower, his quidditch team, and even some students from other houses who he has classes with.

results: nothing.

he gets so riled up and impatient, that one day he just snaps.

which means: he goes to the great hall for breakfast (because everyone is there), sits at the very beginning of the gryffindor table (to have everyone in his field of vision), grabs as much of his red string as he can (so, right before it becomes invisible) and. pulls. like. a. motherfucker.

two things happen in like two seconds.

one. regulus black, who was just about to leave the great hall, is yanked backwards and barely caught by barty before he hits the ground. his arm painfully stretched to james' direction.

two. before james can finish processing that what the fuck, regulus black is his soulmate and sirius is going to murder him. regulus manages to stand back up properly, stares at his pinky like it has personally offended him, and. also. pulls. like. a. motherfucker.

so james also gets yanked, only that, as he was still stunned from what just happened, he gets pulled out of his seat and dragged for maybe five steps towards regulus. arm painfully stretched towards him.

sirius, who has been watching everything, loses his shit.

Based on what I know, I do not think Sirius and Regulus were even taught being gay was possible. I think Walburga/Orion refused to teach them it even exists. So I imagine them finding out like this:

Sirius: Yeah, if I was a girl I would probably date Remus to be honest. Such a shame it’s impossible for me to like him.

James: Impossible? What do you mean??

Sirius: Well you can only like people of the opposite gender.. right?

James: …No, you can like people of the same gender, that exists. It’s a thing.

Sirius: ( °ㅁ°)

Range was the obvious choice since he spent the majority of his younger years being too weak to hold up in melee combat - which is something that he developed a liking for as he grew older.

Being taken into the temple would trigger a gradual but drastic change to DU drow's personality, as well as his combat style. This includes the discovery of a "secret" secondary class (I made it pretty obvious in an older post but I'm yet to see anyone question me about it LOL) , as well as the obvious change from Ranger to Fighter.

Murder, as dictated by Bhaal's teachings, should be a personal and intimate act. This is what drew him away from ranged combat and had him opt for smaller weapons like daggers and short-swords - not only could he "honor" his father's will more faithtfully that way, but these are easier weapons to conceal while out and about.

Ages: 28 and on Class: Fighter Fighting style: Great weapon fighting.

It is by complete happenstance that the first thing DU drow picks up once freed from the Nautilod pod is some Fist's greatsword. Having lost his memories after Orin's betrayal, he had no reason whatsoever to be subtle or performative in his fighting style any longer - and in his natural state, the man gravitates towards the large and the effective.

Rabbit sized Bunnyblade riding a hound into battle. Adversaries laughing until they learn to fear the bunny.

He is three years old and yearns for blood carrots. Philza promises both to him.

Philza gets captured and manages to send a secret distress message. Technoblade comes and beats everyone up, but doesn't kill them. Philza is still caged.

Technoblade demands more carrots before he opens Phil's cage. Phil tells him he doesn't have any on him. Technoblade leaves him there.

Luckily, with his captors wounded, Philza is able to escape on his own. He immediately sets up a "Philza Ransom Fund" which is just an additional fund that Technoblade can only access if he rescues Philza from being captured.

Technoblade starts throwing Philza at enemies in the hope he gets caught so Technoblade can get the Rescue Phil award.

Philza has to then stipulate that Techno can't have the Rescue Fund if its his damn fault Phil got captured in the first place.

Technoblade is unamused.

Losing it at all of this qdsuiqjkljkdqj that's so fucking funny.

Techno is going to have a field day trying to find some sort of loophole of a situation he can put Phil in that is subtle enough it can't be traced to him but also dire enough to make him legible for the Rescue Phil fund.
