I’ve Realized That I Don’t Want To Wake Up In My Dr. I Want To Start Perceiving Those Realities In

i’ve realized that i don’t want to wake up in my dr. i want to start perceiving those realities in such odd situations that i KNOW i shifted. like i will shift to my better reality when my dr self is in the shower before going to school. or i will shift to my hogwarts drs while putting in my uniform or something. idk it just seems more fun that way.

I. TOM MARVOLO RIDDLE

A curious little thing, Tom Riddle was the day he was born━his eyes, which had just blinked open, had latched its vision onto his mothers hand, and his tiny fingers and his tiny arm had reached up to touch, to see, to learn the love of his mother. This Tom Riddle is borne out of love, and is raised being loved. It makes all the difference. And yet━he is still fascinated by death. Still, he wishes to know of a way to evade it. Still, it makes his skin crawl.

So, he will find a way. Tom Riddle comes to Hogwarts, the school of witchcraft and wizardry, with one goal. Learn enough and beyond to create a path for immortality. A little obsession for a curious little thing.

II. JUDITH WARD

One thing Judy Ward has always possessed is a curious mind. It is a family trait that gives way to another family trait━obsession with ones passion. She has been reading and observing and asking since she was shorter than her mothers office desk. Inquisitive child she was, and curious girl she is━she has latched onto the past and the field of history. Why did it happen? Who did it happen to? Why is it important? How did it change things? Can the effects be seen even now? How did the people live? How were they similar to us? How have we changed from them? What can she learn from them?

But reading about it isn’t enough. It does not satiate her. She needs to live it, to be the primary source, she has to see it, experience it, understand it wholly━so she will. And thus comes the single-minded ambition on traversing through time itself. Maybe figuring out independent time travel will satiate the need for innovation and exploration for this curious mind.

III. PARTNERS IN CRIME

Though surprisingly, not many crimes will be committed in this partnership. You see, these two bring out the best in each other. Albeit these two are intense personalities, their intensity seems to dwindle rather than sharpen—they soften each others jagged corners, ease the tension in their eyes. Suppose its what happens when kindred spirits meet. He knows how to stop her impulsiveness and she knows how to ease his franticness.

Tom knew from the moment he saw her in the restricted section in their first year, saw her focused, widened eyes, the way she would whisper to herself that sounded more like hissing from the outside, and the book she had picked (Advanced transfiguration, Volume III: Threads of reality by Serafina Nott), and knew that she was like him. That she had that purpose to learn, to know, to understand whatever idea her young mind had found most interesting. He needed that singular seven second long insight into the way eleven-year-old Judith Ward chose to spend her afternoon to know that he wanted to be the one. The someone that wouldn’t find him odd, that would maybe talk with him about something other than that stupid quidditch game, or the fucking weather, that he could exist with.

He got what he wanted. Judith Ward had others be friendly enough with her, but she never really got them. She never really got how they could be ambition-less (though when she looks back, she realizes that she and Tom were the only eleven-year-olds that had lifelong ambitions). She never really got why they didn’t scurry to the library to get their hands on whatever new book Madam Moon had brought in. Tom Riddle was a blessing. She latched onto him like she latched onto history━and Tom let her roots grow around him, let her plant him into her little garden of life, let her have him for the rest of their lives.

From that moment onwards, they have never walked alone. The curious little thing and the little historian, partners in crime and life.

The fact that jkr doesnt seem to realise that the freedom to remove and decenter sex from your lifestyles and relationships, to not be told that sexual experience gives you measurable value, or to simply not be forced to be sexual when you dont want to be is such a massive part of women's liberation just cements what I already suspected: that shes never been a feminist at all, just a racist old creep with no life outside of her hatred

After shifting to a DR, how do memories within that reality feel or recall to the awareness?

🌊 Based on my experience

In your DR, you’ll remember your CR as a whole, and how it feels will depend on how different your DR and CR are, whether you used a method or LOA and whether it’s your first time shifting or if you’re more experienced.

First, if you’re in your DR, you’ll always remember your CR as a whole. You’ll recall a few details, but not much more than that.

🐚 If your DR is very different from your CR

Remembering your CR might feel strange (especially if you used a method, where you’d expect to be "teleported," while with LOA, the shift happens unexpectedly). In any case, as soon as you’re in your DR, recalling your CR will feel odd. Since you’re not teleporting your body but your consciousness:

In your DR body, feelings will seem normal. You won’t feel out of place—just as if you’ve always been in your DR. However, mentally, you’ll be fully aware of a divide between two very different realities. Sometimes, it might feel like your CR was just a dream, but you’ll realize it was too detailed and long for that.

Right after the "teleportation," if you don’t experience symptoms, you won’t immediately notice anything unusual. Seeing your DR room will seem completely normal. But after a few seconds or minutes, you’ll realize that just moments ago, you weren’t there.

During the first moments in your DR, your mind will still hold onto memories from your CR. Again, this will feel normal, and you won’t specially be surprised. However, some memories from your DR will be present as soon as you arrive, while others will gradually replace or integrate into your mind as you remain in your DR.

The more you progress through the day, interact with people, visit places, and "participate" in your DR—because yes, you could also stay locked in your DR room without interacting with anyone—the more your DR will become familiar. Sometimes, you’ll meet someone in your DR without "recognizing" them at first, but as soon as they speak to you, the memories of them will settle in.

If you have a script or shift into a DR you’ve prepared, like a fictional one, then obviously, you’ll recognize everything. But if you haven’t prepared anything specific, it’ll feel more like I described above.

Gradually, your CR memories will fade in your mind and become less detailed, though you’ll still remember them. Meanwhile, your DR memories will take over. Don’t worry, it doesn’t take long, and it really depends on how much time you spend in your DR, interacting with people, leaving your room, etc.

If you’ve done a mini-shift before, you’ll remember your CR and DR in the same way.

Then, when you return to your CR, you’ll recall your DR like a global memory, and since you already know your CR, you’ll retrieve your memories more quickly. Whether you’re in your DR or returning to your CR, you’ll need time to get your thoughts in order.

🐚 If you shift into a similar reality

Whether you use a method or LOA, you might either realize immediately that you’ve shifted, or discover it later—it depends on how obvious the changes are.

In that case, you’ll just have this feeling that "before," things weren’t like this or that "some time ago," things were different, with a strong sense of certainty.

🐚For master reality shifters

If you shift multiple times between different realities in a short span of time, you might feel a bit disoriented or experience depersonalization/derealization. But again, this will pass if you immerse yourself in the reality you’re in.

Finally, if you’ve been shifting for several years, realities will just feel like "places" you’ve been to. Even if you change families, appearances, etc. in your DR, it won’t really matter—you’ll view your DRs as if they were just travels to another country. The word "reality" will seem less significant, and for you, it’ll be just another place that adds to your memories.

VOILA!

Once again, this is just based on my own experience.
