What sort of programs are you using in order to make your animatics and what's your process of figuring out how to animate such dynamic movement? Like how do you plot things out, I guess? Often times, when I try things can be a bit rough. Definitely not as smooth as yours so I'd love any tips for that! I also was wowed by the gif you made nuclearmushroom. Hoping I can eventually be at least a bit decent with transitions ^^'
1. I use tvpaint, clip studio paint, sai back and forth and edit post in Sony vegas
2. the animating part came completely from practice t (I drew inspiration from a lot of different things I can still name to this point).
I did multiple gifs for drowning/swimming and I was already very familiar with the idea so it was easy for me to do a spacial thing. (there’s one of them)
3. The most I have for planning is this one page
everything else I improvised because I rely more on my head than a piece of paper.
4. Thank you so much!! that one drew a lot of inspiration from this

The Chief Coin Officer of Tumblr has issued a new press release a mere eight hours after the announcement of Tumblcoin:
Unlike other cryptocurrencies, Tumblcoin has no maximum limit. We used numerous and varied economic studies to develop this completely sound process, and we’re entirely confident this will help create the most stable cryptocurrency this world has ever seen. There is no way this can fail. It’s the unsinkable currency.
As of press time, the CCO did not respond when asked for details on the “numerous and varied” economic studies.
lmao kylux?? who that???
(shout-out to @red-emperor for letting me dood their cosplay!)
any tutorials/references u recommend for self-taught artists? my goal is to make fanart and some original stuff. u inspire me a lot :)
HELLO anons and THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR KIND WORDS! I think it’s hard to recommend specific tutorials bc I feel like what works for one person might not always work for another, but here are some good general resources I enjoy!!
This pinterest has A LOT of tutorials and references
Andrew Loomis’ books are gorgeous to look at and helpful!
YOUTUBE and gumroad are great resources, you can find a lot of helpful anatomy guides/ tutorials/ process videos on there e.g. proko, this video by steve huston, life drawing stuff etc AND here’s a list of some tutorials available on Gumroad
FOR Color, I’ve found this site and this site to be really good!
I also really like these tutorials HERE and HERE
AND some other art books I’ve found helpful are Anatomy for sculptors, Steve Huston’s figure drawing for artists, and michael hampton’s stuff!
LAST BUT NOT LEAST don’t be afraid to use photo references!!! IT WILL REALLY HELP
I hope some of these might give you a place to start!!! FEEL FREE TO DROP ME ANOTHER MESSAGE if you couldn’t find what you wanted!!
yoo i have to ask you guys for like advice cuz idk what to do w myself
see, my problem is that i’m pretty good at planning things out!! i always write down things for myself to do during the day, and i make sure i never give myself too much work, but just enough to consider it productive
but
i never stick to the plan
how do i stick to the plan instead of just flopping onto my bed at 3 pm til 10 pm and then like do some homework in a rush and hope for the best
After I finish everything that needs to be done by morning and prep for the day, I’m going to let myself watch an episode of YOI. That is my incentive and this is my public statement.
this was supposed to b posted yesterday but i was busy
oc refs
