hello everyone i hope all of you are ok right now with everything going on, i hope all of you stay safe and well i love you all (unless you’re right-wing in which case fuck you, pretty much anyone with a good soul! <3) if you need a place to just relax and forget everything for a bit scroll past my most recent posts and read those! i enjoy making people happy and i hope my posts can make you forget all the bad things in the world, even if just for a moment. please take care of yourselves i may not have met you but i love all you beautiful creatures and cryptids!!!!! i will be going back to my usual posts tomorrow but I’ll pin this one (if i can figure out how that is) anyways have a beautiful day/afternoon/evening/night 💖

What else did they expect?

My generation, generation Z, is going to be the one that changes things for good. In America, after yet another school shooting, instead of just accepting the “our thoughts and prayers to the families” that is normally said, the students actually did something. They began to stand up and speak for harsher gun control laws. These same STUDENTS organised one of the largest protests in AMERICAN HISTORY, with an estimated 1.2 - 2 million people taking part in over 800 cities world wide. 

We are a generation raised in a society of “girls rule boys drool”, of girls being given toy kitchens and hoovers whilst boys played with cars, Lego and army men, of girls being told to wear skirts and be careful to sit so you don’t accidentally flash your underwear whilst boys were told to run free and do whatever they want.

But, we are also the generation that grew up on a diet of tales about heroes and villains where the heroes stand up and win. We grew up on Percy Jackson, Harry Potter, The Hunger Games, Divergent and Marvel movies. All things where the heroes fight back and WIN. But then the adults stripped away our hope, our futures and then backed an unqualified business man for president over a woman with political experience and they’re shocked children are fighting back. They’re surprise that we’re all like the heroes we grew up with. What else did they expect when we are the generation raised in the aftermath of 911, the recession, the Iraq war, the 7/7 bombings and increasing numbers of terror attacks? We grew up with Disney movies that taught us to speak our minds, to let ourselves to be heard and now this generation has begun to speak out.

In the word of Thomas Jefferson, the 3rd President of the United States, 

“Every generation needs a new revolution.” 

This is ours. In America, they fight for stricter gun control laws. Everywhere, we fight for equality for EVERYBODY.

The generations that came before us may have began the battle for equality, but we’re the generation that will fix it.

It was always going to be us.

Why wouldn’t it be us?

DEAR GEN Z,

I know things are terrible for us right now. I know it seems hard. I know it seems like nobody wants to listen sometimes.

But we can make a difference.

We’ve been told that our whole lives. All the Hunger Games books, Harry Potter, dystopian novels, sci-fi revolution adventures … it’s all lead up to this point. We have done so much to work to change the world already, and we can still do more! We have to do more! It may be hard, but we will get through this.

Let’s fight for our future. Let’s fight for tomorrow.

We cannot let ourselves become like the Boomers. We must put an end to these stupid things happening to us so it doesn’t ever happen again.

We cannot let ourselves, our future children, and future grandchildren fear for their lives every second of the day because a bomb might drop, or an angry kid whose been enraged and supplied with a weapon might shoot them at school.

We cannot allow our economy to tell us what we can and cannot do, no matter how hard it is to rise up and make a change.

We cannot let the rules become tools of limiting the power and the rights of innocent people who just want to live their lives.

It is our turn to change the world. It is our turn to fix what those before us have failed to do.

It’s time for us to rise up and take a stand.

We can do this.

We will make sure this never happens again.

A masterpost on Togashi’s gay subtext and why it’s intentional.

Hi ! After seeing so many posts about Togashi dropping subtext about Killua’s possible romantic feelings for Gon, I thought it’d be a good idea to make a sort of “masterpost” with all the subtext that Togashi has included into his work.

I usually see a lot of people trying to say that HxH isn’t about romance and that Togashi isn’t interested in writing romance into the manga, but when you analyze all the subtext that’s been going on the further Gon and Killua’s relationship progresses, I think it’s incorrect to say that Togashi has never hinted at the possibility of romance in HxH.

Also, please note that I will only base this analysis on the manga, so there can be no mistake that “maybe this is just something the anime made gayer” : i want to prove that the subtext is 100% intentional on Togashi’s part.

I’d also like to mention, although I will analyze it further after listing the subtext, that Togashi is a VERY smart man. There are always little details in the story and/or foreshadowing that are easily missed at first but when you notice them, it truly makes you understand how much attention and care Togashi puts into his work. There are countless details and symbolism that are analyzed daily through wonderful meta posts, from the main 4′s birthdays and their link to their character or the religious symbolism in Kurapika’s story arc…. Togashi loves to foreshadow and plant little details into his work, so when Togashi plants subtext, I’m sure he 100% knows that he’s writing it, and it can’t be seen as unintentional.
