our ukrainian literature teacher is telling us about the executed renaissance (розстріляне відродження) and my blood runs cold as I'm listening to all these terrible things soviet union did to ukrainian artists. they literally slaughtered all of teh ukrainian artists who wouldn't create propagandistic artworks. sent them to gulags, psychologically (and probably not only psychologically) tortured them there. it's so fucking horrible I just can't put it into words. and all those westerns who glorify soviet union can go to hell. my people suffered for centuries AND YOU ROMANTICISE THE OPPRESSOR WITHOUT EVEN KNOWING A HALF OF THE HORRIBLE THINGS THEY DID

Lyubov Panchenko is a Ukrainian artist and fashion designer

Lyubov Panchenko (1938 - 2022) was a Ukrainian artist and fashion designer, winner of the Vasyl Stus Prize, who belonged to a group of artists of the Sixties who revived Ukrainian culture during the Khrushchev Thaw.

A talented fashion designer, Lyubov Panchenko worked in various genres of art, including watercolors, linocuts, fantasy decorative paintings, and collage paintings made of coat fabric.

Panchenko's artistic and political impulse was in full force for the rest of her life. When Russian troops advanced on her hometown of Bucha, she remained at home under occupation for more than a month. Starvation and isolation led to her death on April 30, 2022.

Kyiv this morning (January the 2nd) was mass shelled by russia with drones and ballistic missiles. I spent all the morning in a storage room that serves as a shelter in my house. Some of the missiles were flying over my head to Kyiv. My friends are saying it was really loud and in some cases debris fell not so far from their homes. There are injured people.

Kharkiv also were under a brutal attack, there are injured and dead.

In the evening, russian terrorists launched a missile attack on Odesa.

The missile that hit Odesa contained shrapnel to destroy manpower, that is, people.
