walburga black loves regulus and sirius. she loves them when she wakes up, she loves them when she sleeps, she thinks of them as a beating heart alive outside of her body. she hates when they’re in pain. she hates when they’re far away from her. she hates when they won’t talk to her. she is a mother. she loves them even when she hates them. even when love is sickly it’s still real love. she tried. she wanted to raise them right. when a mother gets everything wrong everyone is utterly unforgiving. she’s not cartoonishly evil. she’s undeniably an abusive bigot but i know plenty of women like that, and they’re loving people. she taught regulus how to make cookies from scratch. she braided sirius’ hair for him. she took care of them when they were sick. she hugged them when they cried. this doesn’t make the abuse go away. it’s part of the abuse, this back and forth between gentleness and violence. this is why sirius stayed as long as he did, and why regulus never left. her abuse is awful because she loves them. it’s tragic because she is trying so hard. abusive parents still love their kids. regulus and sirius still love her too. it’s complicated. let it be complicated.

I keep thinking about why was it so weird to people that Cami had a dark backstory introduced in season 3. I do agree that it should have been introduced in season 1, like mid season or something, but to me it made a lot of sense.
I mean, her very first scene in TVD has her practically narrating Klaus' state of mind. And sure, she is a psychologist, but like...I've been to a lot of those and they aren't usually that good. Sure, she was looking at a painting, but the knowledge was immediate and it got me thinking that she just probably expects people to be able to do awful things, despite also thinking they want to be good, because that's who she is. She wants to be good, but she has a dark mind.
Cami was terrified about ending up killing a lot of people, like Sean did, because she view that as a possibility. Normal people, no matter their degree, don't usually think that about themselves even if a relative did something like this. Sure, you can think about killing someone when you're stress or angry or joke about it, but to actually think yourself capable of that and fear it? No, that's not very usual.
And her attraction to Klaus, despite knowing everything about him? Her sympathy towards him?
Yeah, the clues were there all along.
I'm sorry, but is it just me who absolutely loves how Simon talks about Maddie and how much he loves her? It's so sweet and real. I love their friendship so much. Also, the fact that only Simon could see her shows how much he loves her. It's so pure. Like also when he said he thought about going to prom with Maddie. That was so cute.

The mischaracterization is killing. Simon loves Maddie, yes. She’s his best friend. She herself says that she was born and life went to shit but she had Simon. Maddie loves Simon, he’s her best friend. Of course he’d want her back! Of course he’s pushing everything to the side to bring her home— wouldn’t you? If your best friends body was out on a joy ride and said best friend was stuck where they ‘died’— wouldn’t you do your damnest to get the body to come back? To bring them home? If hell was real, I’d know I’d traverse it to find my best friend. I would do whatever it takes to bring them back. I’m not romantically attracted to my best friend. They are just someone I could never see myself living without. Losing them would kill me. The same way it’s killing Simon.

the relationship between these two means the world to me, it was because of them that i fell in love with this show and i live for all their interactions
i personally dont ship them and wouldnt be happy if they became canon because their friendship is so amazing, but its still my favorite relationship in the entire show and i genuinely believe that they are the most important people in each others lives and they simply couldnt move on without each other, nothing will make me change my mind

modern au liiy and petunia LOVE barbie with all their heart. when they were kids, they had marathons of every movie at least once a year.
when they became teenagers it happened less frequently, simply because petunia went through phases where she thought she was too "adult" to watch children's films, but even then she surrendered whenever lily started watching alone.
one day lily forced severus to watch with them and half the session was petunia and severus fighting and seriously discussing the plots of the films while lily laughed.
and at the end, each one made a ranking of best film + best barbie + best companion. lily's favorite movie is barbie a fairy secret, severus' one is barbie in a christmas carol and petunia's one is barbie in the 12 dancing princesses.
i love snily as a ship but nothing can beat the power and tragedy of their friendship. come on, the angst of childhood best friends that were the comfort of each other slowly taking different sides, slowly losing the skill to understand one another ??
lily was the only witch in her family, she had no idea what was going on, she realized her parents didn’t have all the answers in the world, her sister was starting to hate her for something she had no control over it. but then she met severus, someone like her, someone that told her about a whole world that she belongs to, a friend with whom she could be herself.
severus came from a abusive home, his own father hated what he was, his mother didnt didnt knew how to properly raise him, he had no friends and no one of his age he could relate to. but then he met lily, a girl the same age as him, a witch like him, someone that was kind and extroverted, someone that brought light to his life.
they loved each other so badly, and yet it wasnt enough to keep them together. they ended up hurting one another (one more than the other), they were in different sides of war, and severus has to live forever with guilty and regret about what happened, his worst memory being the day he really lost her.
yes i think severus had a crush on her when they were kids (and in my hcs, lily had a crush on him at some point too), but a crush fades over time. their tragedy is not about romance, its about losing your best friend, the most important person in your world, the first person you felt comfortable with and could be yourself.

Walburga is like who tf ate the last slice of cake, that was mine, and the cake is like leftovers from someone's wedding and it's actually really good so Walburga wanted a piece for herself and then Sirius immediately blames Regulus because regulus has a history of stealing other people's food and regulus blames him back because Sirius is a foodie who eats more than he should and Sirius is like tf did you just call me fat you little shit and then a fight breaks out and even Walburga is yelling because that was supposed to be her fucking cake, it was literally the only good thing she was looking forwards to all night and it's chaotic, everyones yelling, furniture is being thrown.

i absolutely love the idea of walburga and druella being best friends that went to hogwarts in the same year
druella is the popular and beautiful girl that everyone loves, shes charismatic, fun and extremely sociable
walburga is conventionally pretty but people are so intimidated by her that they forget that, shes serious, never seems to smile and doesn't have the patience to (and doesn't even know how) make friends
and yet they work so well
they are super protective of each other, walburga always keeps an eye on anyone who might hurt druella while druella doesn't allow anyone to say bad things about walburga.
druella has thousands of people wanting her attention and yet walburga is always her priority
walburga always says that she hates jokes and "superficial" things but she could spend hours listening to druella talk about the most diverse and meaningless subjects. and druella is the only one that is able to make walburga laugh (which is still a hard task)
