Hi! (This is my first request so I'm a bit nervous haha) Could you please do a Shinso x nonbinary reader scenario where the reader has been staying up really late recently, and their friends and Shinso have been getting really worried, and when he goes to ask them if they're all right the reader just like, falls asleep out of pure exhaustion. (Also the reason they're so sleepy is because they were reading fanfiction, and doing school work, but mostly reading fanfiction)

Okay, sure, finals were coming up. Hitoshi understood that. But he couldn’t help but start worrying when the bags under your eyes beat his. What if it was nightmares? What if you were pushing yourself way too hard? What if something was eating at you and he hadn’t said a word about it? Had something happened to you?

Hitoshi was observant, yes, but it didn’t do him any good when he had no idea what to say.

You flipped the glossy page, barely taking in the tiny, nearly unreadable words. Maybe you shouldn’t have stayed up so late… but it wasn’t your fault! Your favorite fics had updated, after all! Right in the middle of your study session, too. So of course, you just had to read a few paragraphs between text book pages.

And before you knew it, you were going to bed at two in the morning with a nearly dead phone and having retained nothing from that book.

Hitoshi plopped himself into the seat in front of you, resting his chin on his hand as he rested his elbow on the table. “Haven’t you studied enough for today? You look like you haven’t slept in days. I’m sure you know everything on that test by now.”

You flipped the page. Your gaze took a little longer to focus. “Not yet.”

Hitoshi tilted his head the slightest bit, eyes narrowing. “Are you okay?”

“Mhm. Just about to finish.”

“Right.” He paused, watching the way your fingers missed the edge of the page more than once. You soon gave up and went for your phone. “I’m getting my water bottle. I’ll be right back.”

The second he left the vicinity of your table, you dropped your phone onto your book (Hey, it was good for something!) and tapped away. There were only a few paragraphs left on this chapter, anyway. Determination coursed through your veins despite the heaviness of your eyelids. You’d sleep after you found out if your OTP reconciled. You needed to know!

Hitoshi set his bottle on the table with a hollow ‘thump’. 

A sigh spilled from your lips, a small smile following. Your phone clattered as it dropped the space between your hand and the table. 

Would it be wrong to see what you were up to?

His fingers hovered over it for a few seconds- No, he wasn’t that nosy. But with a tilt of his head he quickly caught the name of your favorite character.

That’s what you were up to.

“Y/N. Wake up.” He shook your shoulder. “You can’t sleep here.”

You blinked once, twice, hoping your vision would just focus for once. You looked down at the crumpled pages under your forearms and your phone on the table. Ah. Your body had finally demanded sleep loudly enough.

 “…When’s the last time you slept nearly enough?” 

You shrugged, rubbing the sleep from your eye. “I was studying.”

“Of course.”

“I was! It’s just… this fic updated and…”

“We’re actually studying tomorrow. No phones.”

“That’s fine… none of my favorites update tomorrow.”

Hitoshi sighed, taking a seat once more. A ghost of a smile played on his lips. At least you were alright.
