Just a few reminders that:
- This is not βthe most wonderful time of the yearβ for everyone
- Whatever you have achieved this year, this month, today: It is enough
- YOU are enough
Before the beginning of last year, I came across an idea about documenting positive experiences over a year by jotting down little notes of 'Good Things' that take place, so that at a future point, you can look back, maybe when you need to see the positives, or to gain perspective. I call the various things I have to deal with my "bag of hammers". (Not my idea. I stole it from Michael J. Fox.) We all carry one of these bags around with us; it's just the contents that differ between each of us. At the moment, my bag of hammers is heavier than usual, and I thought this would be a good time to review my list of 'Good Things', and begin anew. I wanted to share this in case any of you like the idea and wanted to try it out yourself. And to say out loud that it's ok to talk about the things in each of our bags of hammers, and ok for us to have to carry them. As I look through my list from last year, I am strengthened, and am able to find gratitude for all of the things, large and small that I have to be thankful for. #practicinggratitudehelps #affirmationshelp #itsoktoneedhelp https://www.instagram.com/p/BtN_menBhJBOikj480tO2ukiSYpYTl452ZpBaI0/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=dtiwvfuh10hl

Ti's the time of the year for this particular internet gem πβοΈ
So I put on my thinking toque and have been googling what the deal is with the Twelve Days of Christmas. Not being a christian, I honestly didn't know what they were. I am much more familiar with the best version of the song about them as done by Bob & Doug McKenzie. My advice is to stay away from researching the meaning of the original song, btw. Turns out there are some angry people with soap boxes on the internet who like to argue over the meaning of things. Who knew? π€·ββοΈ And Bob & Doug's explanation is way funnier anyways: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1DTwLqR071M I bring this all up because my own 12 days of xmas are going to run starting tomorrow until xmas day. Because I say so. And my gift to you for each of the next 12 days will be a new xmas-ish pun or joke, designed to make you laugh, smile, or at least groan a little. Because some people have a hard time with this season, for lots of different and equally valid reasons. Myself included. My hope is that this helps, even if in some small way. #12daysofxmaspuns #12daysofxmasjokes #mentalhealthawareness #lookafteryourselfovertheholidays #day1istomorrow https://www.instagram.com/p/B6BZI_shg4jiN_Humw9wf4it4FW1JR-3HVv7Cc0/?igshid=x7ngk6l67mqv

This is a tough season for a lot people. Please be kind to yourself. Do what you are able when you can, and accept that it's ok when you can't. You'll get through this. And if it helps, enjoy a smile wherever possible.
