I'd like to be able to think about this past year this way...
Sometimes a visual helps frame the context.

Every time I see a clown, I want to do this.
Daredevil meets Pennywise // artwork by Marco D'Alfonso (2017)
A collective reminder to the world that there’s a new “IT” movie out . And that clowns are just fucking disgusting and evil.
I only just learned about Boggarts today, and while the concept is interesting I can’t help but want to meet one in person.
Based on what multiple exgirlfriends have told me, I have a pretty solid idea of what it will change into, and I’m beyond curious to see exactly how one can take on the form of “commitment”.
I Iove this response. I look at it, from time to time, to remind myself that there is healing to be had, eventually.
How do you get over a broken heart?
You don’t, ever. Not quite. But time can do amazing things. A deep wound scabs over, and the scab becomes a scar, and then one day you look for the scar and it’s barely visible.
What’s important is not to become the wound. Not to spend your life and your time and your attention on the hurt and the heartbreak. Take it and make art with it, instead, or use it to push yourself forward, into things, not away from them.
Good luck.
