Honestly, we all talk about how sad Nico's life was, how angsty Valdez's is, but we never talk about Jason.
Jason Grace was ripped apart from his mother and sister as a toddler, and was raised by wolves. Do you know how terrifying large dogs are, now imagine wolves. Toddlers need live and reassurance, but the portrayal of the wolves are far more... Distant. They are icy cold at best, inattentive, unconcerned and apathetic at worst. Not an ideal place for a child to grow up in, not ideal to spend your formative years in.
Fast forward, he's at Camp Jupiter and has formed friendships after a lot of difficulties (a hundred children, all traumatized and 'hardened' by life with wolves, with little help from adults. Go figure.) And, by @zazzander 's post, Camp Jupiter suffered huge casualties and probably were crushed once or twice resulting in mass desertion. Imagine how Jason must have taken to losing much of what is life's purpose was: to effectively lead an army. While he did a spectacular job of slaying Krios, he will still be blaming himself for the deaths.
Once again, Hera (Juno), wiped his memories and snapped his relations, and put him in a place with grave danger to his life. Once again, we all know what happened with Leo at the end of BOO: Leo 'died', instead of him. Once again Jason Grace loses a huge part of his life. ToA novels indicate that Jason never properly reconnected with Camp Jupiter, and Piper, who had to be supporting of Jason (If not as a partner then atleast as a friend. Jason risekd his life many times to save her, it is right that she atleast stays to comfort him). He then learns that Leo is alive, but dies for Lester's character development.
Jason's life has always been a Hodge podge, a toll that has been taken apart and put back together for other's whims and fancies; his heart has been broken again and again and again till it has been shattered into infinitesimally small pieces that can never be broken again, but can never begin to heal at all.

it’s not complicated it’s literally so simple here’s the timeline
leo believes himself to be 100% straight
one day jason briefly touches the small of his back to pass him in a narrow space
leo comes out to piper within 24 hours
having a giant robotic bear with killing potential call you “superstar” is actually so personal—
can’t stop thinking about how much leo’s death was foreshadowed (maybe by accident) in tlh. like festus is an extension of leo because of their (perceived) similarities ie leo doesn’t think he can connect with other people, would be feared or cast away because of his power. and then festus dies on him, temporarily sacrificing himself to save the lost trio. this sacrifice on festus’ part isn’t pointless, since it saves them from midas’ traps, but it doesn’t solve the entirety of leo’s problem. this motif of a failed/temporary sacrifice is repeated at the end of boo, when leo temporarily dies to save jason from the prophecy but all it does is push jason’s fate to a later time. and i think thats the core of their tragedy, and the tragedy of all demigods in pjo: trying your best to save the people you love and the futility of that hope in the face of fate
jason grace, but desi.
Leo teeths
Valentine's day hc that Jason tries to cook the desserts Leo loved to eat as a kid, but he accidentally burns them and has smoked the roof of the house
some of y’all on this site will be like “omg i love frank” and then completely mischaracterize him
they want sleep
