Like I get there's the whole study of the brain physically reacting similarly to situations in fiction and reality. But that is literally it.

You don't believe that Jurassic Park actually happened do you? You realise that that is fundamentally telling the difference between fiction and reality?? Just cause you get happy when a happy scene happens, that doesn't mean you can't tell them apart from reality. That is basic empathy.
