ais' favourite game. fuck around and find out. wherein he gets his ass beat to death with his own arm.
im going to try to draw all touchstarved LIs before the game is out
Pt2. concept redesigns of Leander and Mhin from Touchstarved
notes:
Leander’s og overall design is way too simple and modern looking, so heres something more battle mage-like and secure (apart from the fact that he keeps his shirt unbuttoned cause he’s an idiot). His og face is also too young and boyish to be believable as a gang leader, here its more square and mature (even if he’s just posing as a big guy he wouldn’t have followers if he didnt have the face for it). Also, as someone who’s supposed to be the amiable, extroverted one his og expression is too sly and scheming, so ive tried to soften the line of his brow and make his eyes less piercing.
For Mhin, first of all shoutout to this person cause im trusting you on the bird thing:
So as i understand it, they have a bird curse like Howl, ergo the feathered face, feathers peaking out from their hair, talons and hawk-like eyes.
Also, i know theyre supposed to be some kind of scholar (mc can ask if theyre practiced in anatomy or something since they stabbed a soulless in the neck very precisely) hence the pristine white shirt and fine blue cloak, however, its bothering me that theyre introduced as a monster hunter and they leave the safety of their internal organs up to the thin fabric of their shirt. Added some protective gear there and also made the cloak mottled hunter-style (also like birds) to make them blend in and confuse their silhouette.
Kuras gets a pass cause i like his design as is.
That is really interesting.
I saw many picture that Vere being a god, so he can basicalyy do whatever he wants and that now everything is more of a fun time, something to keep going while being trapped.
So when we dont give him enough of entertaiment or make him angry - he wont take it.
But Vere being an image of a farmer ? Thats new
So I was discussing with my friend about Touchstarved theories and shit. Most of which I makeup for funsies. But one of which that I don’t really have a basis for that I just think is a fun thought involves Vere and his route in the demo.
So yes, if you haven’t played the demo yet, spoilers ahead.
As I was saying, in Vere’s route at the end you make a choice in which determines whether he lets you live or he kills you. And I say “let’s you live” because let’s be real, if he had really wanted to kill you he still would have and been on his merry way to go see that lute player (lutist??). But if you choose that option to “distract” him he just moves on and lets you go. Which I thought was strange. Until I thought about it some more.
So someone may have already pointed this out but I’m gonna say it anyways. It’s hinted at that at some point Vere may have been revered as a god. And to a certain extent, I think may have really formed his moral stance on things.
So I say all of that to say, that I think when Vere sees you choose the option to just give up in his head he likely believes he has a right to mercy kill you. Like when a farmer comes upon an animal so sickly or injured that the choice becomes would it be more cruel to let it live and suffer or should I kill it and end the suffering? So when we make the choice to give up, Vere is just the farmer pulling the trigger.
Hope that made sense, love yall byeeee~ 💕
Mhin sketch/wip ✨️✨️
I missed drawing them too much so there we go!
once again thinking of mhin and mc as mirror images to each other; two sides of the same coin. how mhin is cynical and believing in only themself, unwilling to trust another as much as they do to their own ability and instinct from what is presumably their own prior experience of having trusted before and then having to crawl out of hell as a changed person as a result of it; how mc has gone through the same thing, travelling through the cursed world beyond eridia alone and undoubtedly suffering their own betrayals, and still has the capacity to trust, to hope that they will find a cure to their curse. how mhin stares at them and sees a reflection of what they could have been, can’t help but wonder: is it because they are just so good in their heart? was i lacking in a way they weren’t? why is it just me that suffers, and not them? but mc smiles at mhin again, treats them kindly despite their insistence on pushing them away, and mhin realises: oh. oh.
maybe they still have a chance.
