Lizzie tried to utilize a power that wasn't her own to fulfill mortal goals, and she faced the consequence of a will beyond that of the players on the server. But Jimmy still died next, the first death in the domain of players, the canary in the coalmine dying to symbolize the danger of red chaos approaching, completely separate from Lizzie's mishandling of a world she holds no power in. A canary can't protect you if you leave the coalmine.
